Changing Character's Appearance?

This has probably been posted already but does anyone know if you can change your character's appearance like their hair or something?

I wish. Why there isn't a checkpoint at the end of Helgen that lets you re-roll your character I do not know. One of my least favorite things about Skyrim.

You can, in Dawnguard add-on.
There is someone in Riften who can changes your face.

Do you play on the PC? If so open the console and type in the following:
showracemenu

If not, then your only option is the Dawnguard DLC, which adds an NPC to Riften who will change you face for you. Of course since it is a DLC, only PC and X-Box users can get it.

Yup - in the "Ratway", where the Thieves Guild hangs out.

No it doesn't cost anything, and yes you can change your name.. only reason why I bothered with it was for the achievement but I didn't change anything with my character. :)

Yes, it's the same person.. it's like the character screen at the beginning of the game.

1000 gold coins, even for a haircut...no wonder she lives in the thieves HQ.

1000 gold coins

Er.. well, if I was wrong about it costing something it's because I only brought up the screen and exited it and haven't bothered with it since. If I'm wrong, I'm going to guess it will cost something for every part of your character you change.. so I wouldn't know what the final cost would be. I suppose I should have tested it more when I was messing with it.

Yeah, I was wrong.. it does cost something so disregard my post. I didn't change anything with my character so that's what gave me the initial thought.

It costs 1000 Gold. But as far as I can tell you CANNOT change your name.

1,000 gold flat fee to change anything but your race and name. Not sure why some people said you could change your name, you can't.

The best thing being that while this Face Sculptor DOES dwell in Thieves Guild territory she is NOT Thieves Guild specific. This has made tweaking a character's face after many hours of gameplay with a really misguided bit of War Paint on their face an easy task, regardless of faction or role.

Troof.

I actually think this was a subtly brilliant addition to the game.

I assume it's non-canon, but the stuff the NPC says about walking with the Hollow Faced Men and some other faction of people got me really excited to learn more. More than likely it was just a reference to the Faceless Men of the Song of Ice and Fire saga but my ears perked up with interest.

That one face sculptor who says very little about things we have no lore information on was more interesting than 90% of the Skyrim NPCs.
