NavMesh - What do opaque blue triangles mean?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 4:24 pm

I resisted from posting a new thread about this, instead posting in this thread:

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1398194-general-navmesh-question/page__view__findpost__p__21266377

But I got no response, so I'll just do a new thread. Copypasta follows:

I understand what a green triangle under a door means, but what about a blue triangle? I am NOT talking about water navmeshes, which are also blue but translucent. I am talking about blue triangles under a DOOR.

For example, have a look at the door to the lower floor entrance of the Riverwood Trader. Its triangle is blue. What does that mean?

It seems to be the green NavMesh triangle you get to show that AI can use a door, but with preferred pathing turned on. So that NPCs know to use that entrance instead of trying to clamber up the balcony :)

Oh, alright. Should have seen that the blue triangle was indeed adjacent with preferred triangles, don't know why it didn't register to me that it would mean "preferred doorway". XD Thanks!
