Dawnguard members won't accept me being a vampire :(

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 6:48 am

Hello guys,
after I finished the Dawnguard's questline two days ago, I asked Serana to turn me into a Vampire.
The only problem is that not a single Dawnguard member wants to talk to me anymore. :(
They say something like "Get away, monster!", or "As long as you are one of them, you are no longer welcome here".
Is there any way to fix this? Maybe the console? I'd like to stay a vampire lord, but I also want to be a member of the Dawnguard.
(Sorry for my bad english, i'm from germany)

Greetings

Sorry, unfortunately the vampire hunters don't allow vampires to fight for them, surprisingly.
You'll have to talk to falion down in morthal; he has the cure.

You can't be a vampire on the dawnguard side. I mean they are vampire hunters  .

Cure it and you can resume your hunt.

If finished in your questline it appears the choice comes down to living as living or undead.

Ive played as a vampire through the enire game, so when they started calling me a monster and what not I was like "*$%# this" and went to the vampire side to kill all of them.

It is kind of dumb, I mean not all vampires are crazy killers. Have been a few vampires with noble intentions in the elder scrolls. They made all vamps seem like blood crazed maniacs in skyrim....other then two maybe.

There's a mod out on Nexus(Possibly on Workshop, haven't checked there) that disables the vampire checks on the dawnguard NPC's, enabling you to do the quests of either faction without any issues

It does make sense. They didn't accept her though, they're just keeping an eye on her. Serana is the key to the whole thing so that's why they let her stay at the fort. They are exploiting her knowledge.

Yeah, the sheer rigidity of some of the factions in this game (Blades & Dawnguard especially) annoy me. There's simply no room for negotiation with them.

or you could get creative *evil grin* Im using the Better Vampires Mod (On my archer I sided with the vampires) and last night I infiltrated Fort Dawnguard. This was the result.

And with that little bit of creativity on my part I am free to roam Fort Dawnguard as a vampire, talk to those guys and even use Isran as a follower

a certain logic and coherence could only be positive in a game like this, joining at the same time companions and dark brotherhood or mages and thieves still sounds like a nonsense to me - and this is still possible in skyrim unfortunately - but at least everyone can roleplay at his will

Surprised that a group of dedicated Vampire Hunters is upset with the fact that you are now in fact a vampire?

I understand people thinking factions are too "rigid" in this game, but to complain about this is, no offense, ridiculous. The entire point of the Dawnguard is to hunt and kill vampires, not welcome them with open arms. Many people in the DG faction joined because they lost family members to them (the orc) or fear for the safety of family members (farmer kid you meet), or they simply hate them (Gunmar and Soline).

This really is a non issue, my suggestion is to just have 2 different save files, one for Dawnguard one for Vampire.

Also, your English is fine

Pretty much this, personally I found the temptation to enslave them all to vampirism too tempting XD

the only faction I really have a complaint about is the companions, I hate the fact that I HAVE to turn into a werewolf to finish it, Id rather be a vampire the whole game

Being a werewolf should have been a choice in the companions. You should be able to continue to quest without becoming one. And should be able to become a werewolf through other ways as well.

Completely agree, seems silly that now that we have wild werewolves you still can't contract lycanthropy from them
