Miraak 'First Dragonborn' build?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:10 pm

Hey all, just a quick question if anyone would want to put input into a Miraak aka the First Dragonborn build I'm making. Since, as it appears in the trailers, Miraak is a spellcaster, so I've made him primarily magic based; however, I have added Warrior trees since he armors seems like battle armor. Here is what I have for his class so far:

Destruction
Conjuration (Atronachs) or could switch with Alteration, unsure at the moment.
Restoration
Speech (only for intimidate)
1h

Would like to know if anyone has any contributions?

The only speech that Miraak needs to get what he wants is his Thu'um. :P

His apparel seems to be a hybrid of light armor and robes though, maybe include light armor?

I think he's wearing robes, If you know how to play a mage then you will never need armor/weapons
Don't waste points on speech, The intimidate option comes up like... 3 times

Don't use Alteration either, like I said above, you will not need armor (even magical armor) This is because a mage will never get hit by an enemy sword, they'll never get that close.
Dual cast destruction should be used sparingly because of the increased Magicka use. Only use it when you have impact unlocked, and an enemy is close by.

If you have seen the High-Res Dragonborn picture, I think he'll be using frost magic.

Speaking of Thu'um, assuming that a Shout Tree is added to the game (fingers crossed), that wall also be a main tree. I was thinking of adding light armor for the reason you stated, but was to unsure.

If there is a shout tree, I think it would work like the VampireLord/Werewolf tree
The points that go into it are gained in a different manner... like killing people with shouts

Good tips, thanks. Although I'm skeptical on Frost Magic. Not sure why, but firing lightning seems to suit his look more.

Yeah, but how many times do you actually kill with shouts?

I see your point, but wouldn't that count as fall damage? Plus, the circumstances are still rare.

What I mean by that is you can swing a sword, shoot a bow, wolf claw someone, shoot blood drain spell, just about whenever as opposed to Fus Ro Dah-ing someone off a cliff.

You need the power to stand on top of a hill in a badass pose while devouring 3 dragons at once.Trust me, It makes all the difference. Also a cool mask.
