Dawnguard and mages

So far I am really enjoying this DLC immensely. Great work on story and themes yet I really want to know if somewhere down the line I get decent gear for my mage, such as enchanted robes or whatever. Have mages been shafted again?

Some light armor with Mage enchantments are available.

Light armour? That's not what I am after, really. I like to benefit from Mage Armour so clothing would be best. I guess this DLC is meant for melee and ranged yet again. Sigh.

You can also use the vampire armor. Some of the ones I have seen are vampire robes of destruction, conjuration, etc. They are the same as regular robes but have an armor rating and do the same. Love the way they look

Are they pallette swaps of the robes in vanilla Skyrim?

That's great but what about rewards? I am guessing somewhere down the line players are rewarded with some amazing sword, or shield rather than a robe or a staff, which I would greatly appreciate. I understand the Vampire Lord is a nice magic-based mode they given us but to be honest I do far superior damage, believe it or not, with vanilla destruction spells.

Um, the vampire side is almost completely based for mages. Unfortunately, they did make it so their equips were light armor, but it is all buffed for mages.

Not sure what you mean about pallette swaps. They look just like the ones you get off of the dead vampires except some of them work like regular mage robes. I do not know all the new terms. Sorry

It's a shame. I am sick of having the same Arch-mage robes. Guess I'll have to make-do or get my enchanting up

Color palette. Think about the novice robes of destruction and how they're really just recolored robes of alteration. Are the vampire robes just a recoloring of robes in vanilla Skyrim?

A post above suggestions they're original.
