Eh, I feel like they aren't really Nords.

I get that same feel from them.

It doesn't vary by race. If you were a normal vampire before getting the gift from Harkon your eyes stay red. If you weren't a vampire before getting bit by hum you get orange eyes.
this is wrong my Breton who was a vampire before dg when I loaded the game after activating dg had orange eyes, whereas my nord who was a vamp before ended up with red eyes.

I was an Orc vampire with red eyes and when I installed Dawnguard they turned orange, even before Harkon bit me.

Since then I got cured once and then had Serana bite me. I have the same orange eyes.

And where is it written that they were purely Nords? I always took that as an assumption. I mean a family that dates back to the first era and lives on the border of High Rock and Skyrim. They are pure bloods in death but perhaps they were mongrels in life.

Well, in the Creation Kit, they are listed under "NordRaceVampire", I believe. But as lore goes, I would mostly think of them only as the true vampire race - not really any one race, but the true race of Molag Bal. Of course, and am utterly wrong, but that is how I prefer to think of them...

Don't correct what need not be corrected.

Nords get RED eyes, imperials get ORANGE.
I haven't seen any red eyes, on the various races that inhabit the castle or other random vampires. Serana and Harkon are nords and have orange eyes. So maybe you should be clear on what your talking about before attacking my post.

Serana and Harkon are definitely nords, they have immunity to frost magic due to 50% frost resistance from vampirism and 50% frost resistance from the racial bonus. It seems the vampire frost bonus ignores the resistance cap, which is lore-friendly as these vampires are meant to be able to survive in freezing lakes.

Serana's eyes are unique I think. Orthjolf has the solid ones too, as does Fura Bloodmouth. Serana's are orange irises only.

Harkon was a powerful man in life, and he was VERY wealthy, the only thing he didn't have was immortality, so he became a vampire ( which was kind of stupid, since he probably would've gone to Sovngarde when he died )

No idea. Please tell us what happens, because that sounds like it could result in all kinds of delightful chaos.

I would actually have my Vampire feed if I can infect people! lol

I just want to say that it was this thread that inspired me to try this a week or two ago, and also that I am using the Better Vampires Mod from the Nexus. With that said enjoy the following screenies.

This took quite a bit of my sneaking prowess  at the time I believe it was 78ish mind you Im using Skyrim Redone so I had to be careful of light sources and what not, silent roll saved my but a couple times getting the first 3.
