Do you hate your Vampire skin and play PC?

Go to your install directory, go to data, textures, actors, character, male or female, depending on your choice in the racemenu.
Copy the female/malehead.dds and female/male_msn.dds and paste them in the same folder.
Rename those files to female/maleheadvampire.dds and female/maleheadvampire_msn.dds respectively.

Now you have your normal skin when in human form as a vampire.

Example:

Install directory>Data>Textures>actors>character>male

malehead.dds
malehead_msn.dds

copy/paste into the male folder you're currently in

rename the copied files to

maleheadvampire.dds
maleheadvampire_msn.dds

If you get a prompt to override existing files when renaming click yes, replacing the old files.

This works great, however one of the issues I am running into with this is I have "Better Females by Bella Version 3" which adds a pretty good model to build on with the first preset. File is located in

Install directory>Data>Textures>actors>character>bretonfemale

the file in that folder is femalehead_msn.dds

changing this simply to femaleheadvampire_msn.dds allows me to keep my custom made character model but when I go into showracemenu and try and edit the Breton I get the default preset model and not the one included by the Better Females by Bella mod.....

Know any work around with this?

BTW, thanks for the little guide.

Are you renaming your femalehead files themselves, or are you making a copy and renaming those? What you need to do is make a COPY of each femalehead file and rename the copies to femaleheadvampire.

I deleted the orginal femaleheadvampire files and renamed the femalehead files to the femaleheadvampire. Makes sense?

That's what you're supposed to do. What I'd suggest is get rid of better females by bella and use coverwomen instead. That's what I do atleast.

That's what Im assuming it does. I want to keep the Bella mod and use it though. Trying to find a work around for this. If anyone knows, please share.

The reason why I said just use coverwomen is because coverwomen does exactly what bella does but 100x better and you have 3 distinguishable styles to choose from. Try it out, see if you like it.

Just looked at that mod at Skyrim Nexus. Never heard about it till now. Will download it and try and rename those files and see if that works. It sounds like it does since you said you have used both together. I'll have to give it a go tomorrow.

I don't think covergirl works with dawngaurd. Still can't default to Better Females for a Breton when doing a face change using "showracemenu"

It works with Dawnguard, I'm running both and recently started a new save file. In the pic I just provided you can even see Serana standing to the left with her hood up in Nightingale armor.
Just ditch better females, I used to use that mod as well, covergirl is better.

Then I suggest the bat-nose mod, emrace your inner monster. :)
