New World Space Terrain Problem (being used as an interior)

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:52 pm

Hi,

I'm attempting to build my own house which has an underground cavern system. The cavern was intended to include holes and exits to the exterior, therefore I decided to use a new world space rather than an interior cell, this is so I'm able to see the sky and have proper lighting effects etc..

So now that you all know my circumstances, could anyone possibly give me any solutions to this problem... When I load the game to test the 'interior' world space, the terrain is suddenly at all different levels. instead of teleporting to the other side of the door, I teleport about 100 meters above the door on a random square piece of terrain, with several other square pieces of terrain at all different heights! so I run to edge of the square and am able to look down on the cavern and see everything! (if I fall I die) I've used the 'tcl' command to have a look around the cavern which seems to be completely fine, its just the terrain! :swear: I've played about with all the figures in the world space panel... for example, ticking and unticking all the boxes and changing the default heights so that land is higher than water or water is higher than land... and still I have the same sort of problem! Its getting very frustrating! :banghead: So I would be very greatful if anyone has a solution or workaround to this problem, Thanks!

Actually I miss some infos, here.

.- Is the new worldspace a completely separate place from Skyrim?
-. Is the cave underground, in this worldspace (below the actual terrain)?
.- How did you build cave's wals and celing?

Few screenshots would help as well.....

Yes, the worldspace is completely separate to the Tamriel worldspace. No, the cave is not literally underground, its built above the terrain, I just used that as a figure of speech. I built the cave by using the meshes for building interior cells. And here's some pictures... imageshack . us/g/834/tesv2012073023564408 . png/ (NOTE: youll have to remove the spaces either side of both 'fullstops', because it wouldnt let me post links).

you know you can use proper weather and skies in an interior, your mod would be easier to make too

the levitation glitch is directly related to the landscape terrain. have you used the landscape editor to raise/lower the landscape heights?

if not you need to do it in each useable cell, even if you dont think you need it. just edit it enough so that the Landscape has an asterisk next to it in each of the cells

@300dpi, I know but I'm using terrain for some of the cavern.
@Zehryo, It seems to work fine with me, you just have to delete the spaces either side of both fullstops.
@Amethyst Deceiver, that sounds like it might work! I'll give it a go!

Thanks for the help guys!

I just want to mention I fixed my world water problem. When viewing my water in the CK which I created from a hieghtmap it would genrate as flooting squares far below my map. I fixed it by setting my map land hieght form -2048 to 0 and then the water hieght and LOD to 145000, which was the hieght I intended for my water to be at, so I got it working perfectly. I didn't show it up once setting it, I had to save the file and reload the map for it to work. I did this by checking it in the game first, rather than reloading it in the CK first. Anyway it no longer renders as flooting blocks but as a solid lake, as it should.
