Anyone having problems summoning him? I unlocked all the words for the shout, went to skyrim and can only shout the first word. No durnehviir.

unlock the rest

make sure your in "SKyrim" ie not in a zone or anything, you have to be in open world.

Point your shout at the ground. Make sure it is in a hugh empty area. A purple hue will show you summoned him

Do it 2 more times and you're set.

He works like a conjuration spell and the atronoch stone absorbs your casts sometimes. And as others have said aim at the ground, and have a wide open space.

He is bloody amazing by the way. He is tough as nails, summons the undead to help you, and he softens enemies up aswell. Zombie dragon of awesome.

Not only that, once you learn all the words of the shout he teaches you, you can keep summoning him. If you went through the main quest in skyrim, now you have 2 dragons you can summon to help you.

Which, btw, greases the fight with Alduin... or anyone else for that matter.

He has a 300 second cooldown though.. Unless you resto loop and wear the talos amulot.
