The story... I knew this would happen! (Ending Spoiler)

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:10 pm

Ok, seriously I'm sure me and all my fellow vampires out there were hoping to block out the sun and dominate all of Tamriel but seriously I knew this would happen. In every big event in a story where your thinking to yourself " Oh well I get to create this big, crazy event in this world such and such" and then there comes that " Really good reason" for you to not be able to go through with that event. You sadly don't get to block out the sun because then all the power houses of the world would be killing off all the vampires for their pointless scheme and putting their precious hate for one another on hold until we were all dead. Good enough reason as any am I right?

Bethesda didn't allow us to block out the sun for good because they don't want to HAVE to put it as canon in the future...but to make the Vampires happy we can fire a arrow into the sun to temporarily block it for a day.

Makes sense though, if the Vampires blocked out the sun the Thalmor, Empire and..who knows perhaps even the Akavir races would jump into the fray to stop them and returns things to normal.

Well... They can just do what is going to happen for the next one anyways because of the fact you have to choose one of two factions for the civil war.

Dragon Break.

I like how the one strain of vampires that CAN go galloping around in the sun is so adamant to get rid of the sun, for no real reason. I don't think an extra 12 hours of night will turn vampires into a master race.

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining about the ending. I loved the ending to the vampires, I'm just pointing out to everyone that this sort of thing always happens because in a world like Skyrim, Bethesda ain't never going to give the players the ability to make " dramatic changes on a colossal scale" for this very reason.

Would've been nice tho I would've conquered Tamriel and vampires would be drunk with blood everywhere... :)

Going off how Serana reacts to being out in the sun...she seems like she was irritated by it a lot if not in pain, asking constantly to go inside a cave or something.

Which is a stupid reason.
Bethesda is afraid to step on ANYBODY's toes (ANYBODY!!!) when it comes to declaring things canon, so they relentlessly cop-out of it. First we had Warp in the West, which was more than ridiculous, and since that was so ridiculous, what's their new tactic? Let's just eliminate all potential divergence from quests so that EVERY character makes choices that leads to the same end result, and thus EVERY possible character can be considered canon.

They're literally compromising gameplay for the sake of people not crying about their character not being canon. You know what? Tough [censored]. Anyone with half a brain should be able to figure out that the ending where THE SUN IS FREAKING GONE is not the canon ending, and if they really can't figure that out and say "wtf you mean my vampire overlord that killed everyone and everything isn't canon?!! This is BULL****!!111" then you're beyond stupid.
I seriously wish Bethesda would stop catering to such an audience and learn how to say "no" every once and a while. They can easily allow for the sun being blocked out in Dawnguard and then come TES VI, say "tough, it's not canon."

Um. It can be Canon. Just like everything in Daggerfall was Canon even though the endings were all so diverse. Akatosh will create another Dragon Break.

Only thing canon apparently is the Dragonborn is/was a Volkihar Vampire and kept the sun from being blocked out forever for the greater good of Vampires.

Seems legit.

Yes, in TES VI the sun will simultaneously exist and not-exist. GG Bethesda, you've really outdone yourself this time!

Well, what would generally happen would be Akatosh fixing it. But no, I see that you don't want this to be an option for the player, so I'm not going to try and discuss it. It doesn't matter, as Bethesda did not give us the option either way.

An option in game? Yeah I'd like it to be.
But I'm saying that when TES VI came, instead of hearing "MYSTERIOUS STUFF HAPPENED AND IT'S UNCLEAR WHO DID WHAT OR WHAT CAUSED WHAT OMG" that makes absolutely no sense and lacks any and all detail, with references to both endings somehow happening in some ways, I'd rather just hear "the Dawnguard won." Pick a side for once, is what I'm saying, and DON'T pick it by cutting back on the content for everyone BUT the canon victor. Hopefully they'll do so with the civil war, but something tells me the civil war will be nullified by a certain important assassination, and the history books will just say "yeah there was some civil war and it wasn't clear who was winning."

Honestly, it doesn't really matter to me that they don't allow it, because I only support the Dawnguard. No self respecting vampires should leave mutilated corpses on the tables. And by Talos have they not heard of a mop?

Like, maybe, the assassination of the Emperor? (It's funny cause you get to kill the emperor >_>)
