Developers please read! I don't know anything about programm

The Dawnguard DLC was originally released as a beta for the 360.

I am guessing that you then made changes to improve the DLC and fix bugs.

If you are using the "fixed" version and trying to port it to the PS3 then I doubt the changes made will be compatible with the PS3 version.

However it would work for the PC because the 360 are much similar to each other than the PS3 and PC or the 360 and PS3.

So if you are porting a non original version of Dawnguard over to the PS3 and you are having major issues I declare that the original "Beta" version be ported to the PS3 and the "Beta testing" process repeated on the PS3.

Again I don't know anything about programming but if this detail has been overlooked then it might be the cause of the major issues. I know that the PS3 and 360 versions constantly have different bugs.

The water physics glitch for example was a major issue for PS3 users that had to be self resolved. I never heard of a similar error on the 360. These common differences is what leads me to believe that if Dawnguard is to be ported over it must be a different version than the one currently available for the 360 and PC because the bug fixes made in the current version will cause incompatibility with the PS3.

The beta for 360 was a stunt to boost hype and increase sales.

Little changes were made from the beta to the actual release from what I heard.

360 still has people getting hit from game breaking bugs so I don't doubt there there's some truth to it.

And if a beta could actually be used, and assume the current PS3 version of dawnguard isn't to the point of destroying the system, then you'd think a PS3 beta would be udnerstandable right? So it either was nothing more than a marketing thing or the PS3 version is just complete trash and gives you a fuzzy screen or something lol.

Well supposedly its something with everytime they load they essentially get a different game, so makes me think that its just some bad coding (not a programmer, but if I recall correctly one bad line of code can cause a complete SNAFU) so they may be hunting for some lines of code in both Skyrim and DG. If this is the case I suppose I could see where it may take several weeks to pick through both skyrim and DG looking for the error. All this is assuming Bethesda isnt just horribly corrupted by Microsoft.

I wouldn't expect something like that to take 3+ months though. That would be one coding error/incompatibility and that would deal with whatever code deals with the saves I'd assume.

I know I'm late, I haven't been coming to this site anymore. Got bored. But I just read that PS3 update they put up.

"Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content."

So they are moving towards to admitting failure and saying they can't release it, right?

They are more likely moving towards thinking they cannot fix it, so are hoping Sony can come up with a solution. Sony would want the DLC, so I am sure they will come up with some nifty way to get more out of their hopelessly over complicated creation. They built it, they created most of the developer tools, so it should not be an impossible task.
