So I'm making a new dawnguard character, can someone just post all the information about crossbows so I can plan the perks etc.

Just checking what smithing perks I need, I usually only take the steel and arcane smithing perks.

This is what I know already, correct me if I'm wrong..

4 crossbows, steel is the weakest, then dwarven, then upgraded steel, then upgraded dwarven. The upgraded ones ignore 50% of the enemies armor rating.

How many bolts are there? Bolt crafting is exclusive to the dawnguard faction, but which bolts are there? What smithing perks do you need to craft them?

Actually all I'm asking is do you need any perks to craft different bolt types and what are the different bolts?

The only smithing perks you'll need for ANY of the gear that the Dawnguard faction will give you is Steel, or Dwarven.
The Darnguard armor, shield, & weapons(including the crossbow & bolts) are steel, & the second crossbow, & bolts are Dwarven.
I don't know about the vamp gear, but I think it's primarily leather.

Also, there are Dwarven, & Steel bolts.

As well as lightning, fire, & ice bolts of those two materials.
But the elemental damage bolts you have to track down the recipes for.

Crafting them just requires the metal, some firewood, & fire/frost/void salts. Depending on which element you want.
