chest lost my nightingale armor!

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:24 am

I have been keeping my things in the chest in the corner on the other side of the Alchemy table for a long time now with nothing disappearing at all... I go back to it and 80 percent of my things are gone, along with my Nightingale armor I am super super pissed! My last save in which the armor is still there is over 12 hours ago... does any one know of a fix or am I just f#*ked?!

This is inside fort dawnguard, so I would assume I should not have to worry about any on this. But what else would you expect to happen.

You can go back to the stone you clicked on to get it the first time again and it will give you another set.

I'm not sure if that will work or not but I will give it a try, but that defeats the point when I still lost a lot of valuable things. I lost all of my custom weapons including the special bow that you get at the end of the dawnguard quest, the 1 that you can shoot a special arrow with that's a very rare item I can ever get that again. so I'm trying to see his way back all of these without going back 12 hours of gameplay.

If you are on the PC you can. If you are on a console then you are screwed for everything else.

Yah I'm on Xbox... so I am just going to ether stop playing or bite the bullet and loose all that progress... ether way I am pissed at the developers for making a chest inside of fort dawnguard that will loose you're items... its a home base, a safe place... but not for your items!

Yeah, I don't know why Fort Dawnguard or Volkihar Keep have almost NO safe storage. Best thing to do is to always keep valuables in an actual player home.

>putting valuable stuff in fort Dawnguard

Yup, there's your problem. :P

I never put anything that I want to keep anywhere but in my house.
But I agree, Dawnguard should definitely have some safe storage along with your own quarters.

Wait you had this stuff in a chest in your home and it went missing? Ariel's Bow was lost to? Man that svcks. You know some rooms in your home are for you Housecarl so maybe (?) try seeing if they took it.

Guys, there's no player-owned storage in Fort Dawnguard!
NOT safe to put anything important in there...
(I thought that would go without saying.)

Volkihar Castle has 95% safe storage.

That's what I thought to as well. That Fort Dawnguard could be used as player's home as well. I guess we are wrong.

No it was in fort Dawnguard.

And I I figured after I have finished the quest and saved the world from vampire overlords that no one would F with my poop at dawnguard, it really grinds my gears.

The only solution I found to this matter is simple... don't play the game for like a month or so till I'm done being pissed off, and continue from the save in which I still have everything!

I don't see a better solution

Try using the main vampire quarters,
Spoiler
after you kill Harkon
. Worked fine for me.

Chests are not safe places to put items. Most of them Respawn. Same with some barrels.

Furniture is safest, as none of those are set to respawn. The only issue is if the furniture is marked owned, then you can lose ownership of items you put in there.

The storage in Castle Volkihar is good, i have had all my things stored in Harkons/My room for the better half of a month now and nothing has gone missing. But on the flip side i have not tried to put anything in Fort Dawnguard.
