CTD exiting modified Fort Dawnguard

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 1:32 pm

Im getting a kind of weird CTD. I made some changes to Fort Dawnguard, including lighting, adding statics, and navmesh(which Ive never done before). I can ENTER the cell fine, everything works, but when I try to exit again the game just CTDs(not getting any errors is kind of annoying!). I cant tell if its just Dawnguard being buggy or its something I did lol.

I did not touch any of the doors or exterior cells, I havnt "deleted" any of the original references just disabled some statics and lights... but Im not very experienced with this, are there any sort of common mistakes noobs like me make that cause this kind of issue?

Edit: Well I did some reading around and saw mention of an ESP being too big causing this kind of crash(mine was up to 196kb), and bookshelves causing it. So I deleted the shelves and got the filesize down to 143kb and no more crash. That svcks, but at least it wasnt the navmeshing. I dont suppose theres a solution to this other than to delete things?

Add or change to:
[General]iLargeIntRefCount=999999

In Skyrim.ini.

The amount of objects you can put into interior cells is extremely low. If you were planning to release your modifications, there are more general workarounds like creating a "buffer zone" between the interior and exterior.

There are some posts about it in this thread => http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1384861-yet-another-huge-bug-interior-cell-as-a-static-limit/page__view__findpost__p__21004763. The post earlier has some code, too.

Hah cool that dummy cell trick worked, and its definitely the better solution for what I was doing too thanks.
