Serana marriage desperado

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 5:37 am

Out of all the cool dawnguard things to talk about, possibly the most spoke about thing is the inability to marry Serana.

Sure, we all know she is cool and I honestly think she is the most well developed NPC that skyrim has...

But why do so many people feel the need to express their feelings about the fact she is not available for marriage?

I mean...its just a game...do these players think by marrying her you can have children or have a honeymoon or something?

come on...Its hardly worth making a topic on the fact you cant marry a game character, just because you have a female companion
that you secretly love, doesn't mean you should feel it is your duty to marry her.

I think Bethesda assumes you will just 'shack up' since it seems unlikely she would want a Nord wedding. Just hope her coffin has more room than the night mothers...

I swear to God, I remember reading a thread almost exactly like this before Skyrim came out, just bout marriage in general.

It sounds so familiar...

Well for me I like to role play and serana is the most lively NPC in the game makes it feel more real and that's pretty much all I want characters that feel real remember San Andreas you had to eat daily could take your gf on dates everything that's the things I'd like to see in TES

I know I'm just saying people want more immersion so it's absolutely logical for people to want to marry the best scripted NPC in the game and hopefully you can in an update but you don't need to make a topic to be little what the vast majority of the populace wants

It's not only that she's the best scripted but they basically set up a whole romance subplot but never actually added one. They basically made Serana and the player character form a bond but you can never actually see it aside from the random dialog options that are basically you saying that you "care too much about her."

Get a girlfriend and you'll understand why.

You know what is worse than people making topics about marrying Serana? People making topics complaining about these things.

You have to respect other people's wishes, though I am sure some people( the rare few) will agree with you ;)

Well, people have different views and things they like to see in their game. It is a roleplaying game after all. What may be weird to some is normal for others.

The dude has a point, it would be cool if you could marry her but everyone dosn't have to make an ass load of threads about how depressing it is that you can't.

We should be able to marry her because she showed character development, you spend basically a whole questline fighting and exploring together, she cares for the player character, she doesnt sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger etc.

Compared to other characters you can marry
Random NPC: "Is that an Amulet of Mara?"
Dragonborn: "yes."
Random NPC: "Want to get married?"
Dragonborn: "Ok."

LOL

Irony.

Although, I do agree. The shear amount of obsession for one NPC is astounding. First thing I'm going to do when it's available for PC is mod it so I can slaughter her.

I was astonished by this, but i do say, i dont wish to marry her. The whole DLC is based around her and then she acts like she likes you.

I've been watching Dawnguard Let's plays and Jesus, Serana is the most developed character I've EVER seen in Skyrim. The only other character I cared about at all was probably Jenassa and that was because I invested time into her and when she died, I felt like all that time was wasted.

She literally accompanies you through about 3/4 of the entire DLC (Vampire side wise, I haven't seen a Dawnguard side playthrough yet) and even though I was just watching a person play, I really cared about Serana as a character in a movie.

Every other character you marry is incredibly underdeveloped or not developed at all. In fact, only Lydia, Jenassa, Aela, Brelyna, Njada, and the other followers could even be considered developed. And half of those people are only developed because of your experience with them.

Serana is developed both through story and the fact that she's a follower.
