Face Sculptor? What about a Perk-Changer? Identity Changer?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 11:48 am

I'm sure everyone has been in this situation. You've put a perk into something which, although it seemed useful at the time, you don't need any more, and unfortunately you have to put up with that wasted perk for the rest of the game. The addition of the 'Face Sculptor' in the Dawnguard DLC lead me to think: could they add a new... how do I say this... character modification NPC in every DLC? I'd really like to be able to re-locate perks, and while we're at it, an 'Identity Changer' would be great as well. I know you might say that everyone in Skyrim knows your characters name so changing it wouldn't be logical RP-wise but the Identity Changer could be maybe a 1 time thing so you could change your name and maybe people could start commenting about how you changed your name. Just a few thoughts which I think would let people enjoy their playthroughs a lot more. It's annoying being stuck with a cheesy name or an unused perk!

maybe in a future DLC but here no it's just the Face Sculptor I'm not saying your idea isn't a bad one but it's something that we would like to see in a future patch or DLC

If you don't want a cheesy name for your character, don't give them a cheesy name in the first place.

Personally I think being able to change perks is a horrible idea. The game lacks enough in terms of decision making and consequences already. It doesn't need to babysit the player any more than it already does.

and that is one of the main reasons why Skyrim isn't as good as we all thought it was

Agree, you gotta live with the consequences of your decisions.

I wouldn't mind the ability to rename characters the reason being when you save your game its identified by the characters name. If I could rename my character I could more easily seperate saves. Say "Jack b4 X Qu" Thats all your name does it labels the save.

I was wondering when another respec thread would pop up.

You can always count on five things happening around here:

1. Yet another Respec thread.

2. Yet another useless poll.

3. Yet another pointless Imperial/Stormcloak argument thread. Just play both sides and then decide which one you prefer the most. Arguing about which is better is stupid and absolutely infantile. This is a game, get over it.

4. Yet another PS3 rage thread. (No disrepect meant to the PS3 users, mind you, I understand your anger!) I believe they are right to be so honked off, but it gets tiring when it's the same thing over and over and over, spamming hostile thread after thread after thread. It's not going to make Bugesda work any faster, and besides, I doubt the developers even read these boards. (Wish there was a way I could help the PS guys, but unfortunately, I don't run Bethesda or I'd be kicking the developers' arses for doing such shoddy work.)

5. Vampire attack threads.

You should be able to change name, unlike Oblivion where you selected class at the end of the sewer it might be nice to make an new game at some later point in Skyrim. Also nice if you messed it up. Changing perks is pretty unneeded.

We have more than enough Re-Perk threads in the Skyrim General Section.
