I'm honestly kinda hoping that she will be a returning character in the next dlcs. If they really wanna integrate these expantions into the core game, then they have to integrate the expantions together as well! And, for instance, when everything is said and done dlc wise, when we call the Empire and the Stormcloaks together for the peace treaty, with all the dlc we'd end up characters from all the factions there having this huge debate about what's to be done. A few interwebbing lines here and there to conect the game and expantions together to make Skyrim a game truely without equal.

Edit - and then, at the party to celebrate your victory you marry Serana of course. xD
