Chicken Necormancer!

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 5:09 pm

I was playing the other day in the Rift area I believe and I came across a Necromancer in a random area of the Rift. I've never seen him before nor his little necromancer set up but after killing him I noticed a summoned chicken sitting on the ground. Since Serana was with me, I assumed she summoned it to 'help' fight.

Then I noticed another chicken with the purple summon glow... and another and... another!

There where like 4 or 5 summoned chicken thralls under this guys control! It was hilarious!

Have any of you found this guy? Is this a DG add on or has this been in since release?

i also found a random Khajiit fighter in a camp near the Chickenmancer.

It's a glitch or a bug if a necromancer somehow attacked the town or village then no it's a bug or glitch

They will raise any dead creatures in the local area, this happened before DG as well. I once got attacked by a dead deer and a skeever.

Maybe he wanted some experts to teach him the chicken dance?

This guy and his army of undead chickens are not new to Dawnguard. I only recently ran across him. But he has been there since the beginning. He just happens to be in an out of the way spot. Also notice that he has a little container with three chicken eggs and a giant toe. Apparently he was working on making GIANT undead chickens! :o

Maybe he's Skyrim's equivalent of the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Roach_King in Fallout 3.

I saw Serana raise up a dead Vale Deer one time while exploring around that area. It's the sort of thing that made me stop, turn around, and want to tell her, "What in Oblivion are you doing?!"

She once raised an rabbit I had killed. However necromancers only raise one corpse so if someone raise multiple chickens it sounds a bit like an fun random encounter.

I love raising foxes and other useless animals with my necromancer. I mean, who wouldn't be terrified of an UNDEAD BUNNY WITH GREAT BIG NASTY TEETH!

Oh wait, never mind.

I saw him in the Vanilla Skyrim. I laughed and plunged a dagger in his heart.

In Morrowind I had an mod Advanced Morrowind who introduce lots of high level enemies, but also non hostile mice (small rats) I used an custom command creature spell to have them follow me.

It's funny reading people's comments whenn they obviously didn't read or didn't understand what the OP was.

Haha he had MULTIPLE chickens that he had summoned and they were not hostile.

Yeah I've found him. I heard clucking noises in the middle of nowhere, so being naturally curious I tracked them down to their source. As I burst out of the bushes I came face to face with the necromancer and immediately cut his head off. It was only when I took in the rest of the scene that I noticed the raised chickens and put two and two together. :D

An update on the Chickenmancer.

So I was traveling to Sarethi farm to gather some nirnroot and decided to pay Mr. Chickenmancer a visit. I wanted that Giant Toe he's got. After killing him I went up to his little altar to get the Toe. While there I noticed the egg still in its nest on the top of the altar so I took it. What is interesting is that when I removed that egg, four chickens were suddenly reanimated. I guess I never noticed that before becaue Mr. Mancer had always removed the egg himself by the time I got there.

I've seen a couple 'mance up random nearby dead things. I took it in my stride as I boosted up my Illusion skills on the chickens at Dragonbridge.

Sometimes when I stoop into the darkest regions of my morality, I become a chicken necromancer! 23's my maximum chicken... er... number. Maybe that was me you saw on another one of my shenanigans.

This happened in a dungeon. There were three dead bandits in a room and the Necromancer chooses... a goat.

...I guess he was into that sort of thing. =/
