I hope they add in the ability to favorite your followers weapons and equipment like they demonstrated in the game jam video.

Agree. btw, didn't they make this happend already then they showed the gamejam video?
Why not sneak it into a patch?

It's annoying that my followers don't wear the good gear (As we all should know armore rate isn't everything).
And I have seen my companions go out in the wild, wielding MY weapons but not MY awsome armours. And get hurt (becous of the leveling bugg thingy).
Would be better though if they also added the training system to our followers and learn more spells. J'zargo would be our best follower if that happend.

I got tired of my follower/spouse un-equipping what I gave him, so when he had his original stuff for sale I bought it. I thought that would fix it, but now when he's at our house and not in 'service', he's always in his skivvies! LOL It's funny but annoying at the same time. At least he doesn't switch back and forth now when fighting like he occasionally did.

I doubt the game considers this something that's broken, and it seems like a deliberate feature of the game to me. Followers keep what you give them, but unequip it when they are not following, just as anybody takes off their combat gear when they are off duty. I've seen followers under attack instantly equip what they needed from their inventory, so for some people it may be this that's broken, not that they take their gear off in the first place.

I have never noticed such a thing...

Now I've had alot of issues both on PC and on PS3 so I guess it's just another bug in my game...

I've only seen them equip weapons, never armor.

Although like another guy said, dress up is fun. I would like to be able to pick their base gear regardless and I'm sure others would as well lol.

If your follower has un-equipped cos they've gone home, you just need to swap one bit back with them and they will put all the good stuff back on again. At least that's how it seems to work for me.

It would be so much easier if you could just take their base armor away.

Hmm, I guess there's a bug at work somewhere. In my game if I dismiss a follower whom I've equipped with good gear they will unequip it as soon as they go back to whatever their non-follower routine is. If I ask them to follow me again they will usually be back in the gear I gave them as soon as we enter a new cell (such as walking out the Breezehome door together, which works in an RP sense for me). I never have to do anything with their inventories to get them to equip their good gear. I like how Marcurio hangs out around the house in his old mage robe, but as soon as we hit the road again he has geared up.

If the game isn't bugged then it should work with followers wearing their best gear when adventuring, and reverting to something old and comfortable when at home. You should be able to choose what they wear simply by modifying what you give them.

It makes for a more polished game is why, doesn't matter that they wont actually be doing anything when you are not in the area, but none the less, they should keep on the armor. When I come home, I want to see them dressed the same as when I left.. sure it pops on once you get outside a city, but.. with the random Vampire attacks on the citys, they need to be prepared for combat at all times.

Just as I want to see Mjoll strutting around riften in her new expensive Daedric armor after we go out adventuring and I dismiss her. No real purpose to it other then the whole immersion factor.. that and Riften of all the holds is the only one I've seen regular attacks on. She of all needs to be prepared at all times. The house-carls have it easy.. especially Lydia.. siting 24/7 up in my room eating.. w/e Lydia.. I'll take Spunky Jordis over your underwhelming butt anyday.

The bow bug needs fixed too... unless of course if you happened to change out their magical unlimited arrow basic hunters bow to something else, then they would actually consume arrows, then i say leave it as it is lol. I would prefer to have an arrow dispenser right there running along with me over one that uses them.

The word Polished and Bethesda do not go together. Neither does changing things for the better so I wouldn't hold my breath with this.

...Why? They're not following you and so you cannot use their combat prowess; they will not be in combat and so do not need new armors.

Weapons that surpass the quality of their originals will always be equipped regardless of whether they follow or not.

That... my friend... is absolute complete BS.

I can't tell you how aggravating it is that my Housecarl uses his tiny default hunting bow over his Doubled-up 130% Blacksmithed up Dwarven Bow, or watch him switch to an ancient Nordic Battleaxe over his Doubled-up 130$ Blacksmithed up Dwarven Mace, or switching to a basic Falmer Shield instead of his Doubled-up 130% Blacksmithed up Dwarven Shield.

It's to the point that I stopped handing him weapons and armor.

How dare you.

That implicit insult aside, the follower hunting bow is unplayable, which is why it consumes no ammunition; hunting bows in general -- likely due to some hardcoded tomfoolery -- are preferred to other bows regardless of strength and regardless of whether or not they are playable.

Bows aside, here's a fascinating suggestion: if you don't want your follower to use something, don't give it to them.

I give my follower 10 daedric arrows and he doesn't use up any of them, but I can loot them off who he shoots, now I have 300 daedric arrows!!
