I was wondering if the vampiric drain spell that the vampire lord is given has been fixed or not yet? It's been a while since the expansion came out and I'm curious to know it patch 1.8 or 1.7 fixes this issue because I want to be a vampire lord with Serena following me, however I can't use one of my most vital attacks because as you all know, the power of it is cut in half or more.

On the PC there's a mod and some unofficial patches.

They say patching DLC is difficult as DLC only targets some people, where the patch would be released to all skyrim users so I dont know about any patches to the DLC itself. If they do end up patching, they have alot of stuff to fix xD

No kidding. I'm not usually annoyed by glitches in the game, in fact I think they bring some more charm to the game, so long as they don't ruin it or stop you from completing a quest. But this vampire drain spell/serena bug is quite annoying and has some serious ramafacations to the vampire lord as a whole. How this got past the beta is beyond me, considering I heard many, if not all beta testers had this issue, unless they were unaware of it.

Well I think everyone who plays their game unmodded has the issue. It's not really a glitch, it's a bug in the coding, something wasn't done right.

The only way around is to not use VL form with Serana near by lol.



I never noticed it at first because I ALWAYS had Serana around. Then when I got rid of her for a while everything dropped dead in one hit

It shouldn't. Everything is the same when she is cured but her eyes from what I understand, whether that's a bug or not dunno.

If you are not a vampire, she will still use her drain spell and infect you with it if you're hit. If you're outside, she'll still complain about the sun too.

So it seems her being human was more aesthetic than a gameplay mechanic, so I doubt it'd have effect.
