Reminds me of something

Okay, so started Dawnguard with a old nord character I built to play the companions quests and I noticed something funny a few hours in. I'm a werewolf running around with a bad ass vamp chick. Feels kinda like a plot out of Underworld, to bad she's not wearing tight leather :)

You didn't happen to notice that Serana looks like Selene? Or that the Vampire Lord form looks like Marcus Corvinus? Or that Harkon is much like Viktor? All characters from Underworld . . .

Yeah I see that now but didn't really click for me until playing as my werewolf character. The vamp lord does look like Marcus though, at least the wings are pretty spot on.

The entire setting of dawnguard is just a copy and paste of underworld really

In vanilla Skyrim the werewolves made me think instantly of the werewolves from Underworld, not the lycans, the werewolves.

I refuse to acknowledge the Vampire Lord was in Underworld, the Vampire Lord form in Dawnguard comes from Bram Stoker's Dracula the movie.

Isn't there a mod that gives you Underworld eyes for vamps and werewolves?

Well yes there is probably some inspiration from there, or more so it helped inspire underworld which inspired dawnguard.

Nothing has been original for a while. Companies steal ideas and adapt them to suit their needs. You'll also notice Serana having daddy issues like Sonja.

What do you mean "not the lycans, the werewolves"?

They're the same thing. Lycan is just the Underworld universe's word for werewolves.

I'd assume they're meaning the first generation and second generation lycans that can't change back into a human at will, and are always in wolf form.

As they wen't down in generations they gained more free will, but lost more and more features.

Yes what Xharon said, in the Underworld movies the werewolves are the first generation and look more wolfish, and the Lycans are the second generation and look more human as they lose less wolf features.
