Bethesda: How do you plan to compensate PS3 owners?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 10:33 am

Will our DLC be free or of reduced cost? Do you have something else in mind? I hope you plan on giving us more than an unsubstantial apology.

Likely. But I'm hoping that the community challenging them to do something about it and making reasonable demands like this will have some appreciable effect.

Pete Hines has said they won't even touch the issue of compensation until they know for sure that they can bring DLC to the PS3. In the past, Bethesda hasn't reduced the price for late DLCs. Given the amount of money they're losing paying PS3 coders to work on a project that may not bring in any profit, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

The only thing that would motivate them to compensate PS3 users is the attention gaming media is giving to this issue. They don't want this issue to affect future game sales. The more attention this gets, the more it becomes a possibility.

Can you link me to what Hines said about it? I no longer frequent the forums, so I'm behind on news (not that there's been any regarding PS3 DLC, from what understand).

simple solution community tries to challenge them they ignore them, end of discussion, like seriously how has your challenging them gone for getting a dlc? *looks at ps3 trophy list* not really that good i would assume.

You're obviously not part of the solution.

It depends on whether they can get it to work on PS3 in the first place. Until then assume nothing.

I, for one, have every intention of making life intolerable for Bethesda if they do not produce active, playable DLC (like Dawnguard or "Dragonborn") on the PS3. If they fail to produce this, then I, as a consumer, will go to unimaginable lengths to ensure that all potential future consumers of future products are aware of the mistreatment suffered at the hands of this business.

If we all combine, unify, and grasp hands in this, then other interested parties with money to spend will become aware that Bethesda fails to live up to expectations set in the producer/consumer relationship. Only then will they realize that their money is better spent elsewhere. As one, Bethesda (and Zenimax, their parent company) will likely pay no heed; as many, they will have no choice but to respond.

I was patient for some time, but this is ludicrous. Any further silence deserves to be met with action, and nothing, NOTHING speaks louder than the almighty dollar.

This is exactly what I'm getting at.

Do you hear that? That's the sound of Todd Howard playing a violin sarcastically. Honestly, my friend, there isn't much you can do abut this. There isn't going to be change unless the people from PC and 360 come too. Which they probably won't. The only people they are really going to lose are the people who only own PS3 or people who feel so offended by this that they won't buy for another system.

Please use the existing topic to discuss PS3 release for Dawnguard: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1418090-ps3-release-for-dawnguard-thread-29/
