If you are that addicted, than yes.
If you like RP elements, may as well get Hearthfire.

Just keep in mind that Khajiit don't get the new visual upgrade, you know cool facial features and glowing eyes of doom. They look exactly like they do in the vanilla game, bland and left out. So don't be disappointed if you want to rule the land as a Khajiit vampire.

Other than that I like it fine.

Some say yes, some say no, some say yes if a bit cheaper.

To me the story was ok, the gameplay was fine. Essentially the DLC adds more of what you already had.

If you're a fanatic then why not, it'd essentially be like being a collector. Typically people who are fanatical about a product would never even realize if it was a disappointing release, at least not for a while xD

But either way, it's a decent playthrough. It's been out long enough that you can look at why people like and don't like the DLC and decide for yourself.

This entire forum is filled with either loving the heck out of the game and why they loved it so much, feeling that it was ok but over hyped, or just out right hating and being disappointed in the product.

Yes. It's a good story, it adds new monsters, weapons, armor ect. There's quests and a cool new area to explore.

The only thing I don't like about it are the vampire attacks on towns. If you don't like NPCs getting killed off it can be a real headache. So for that reason I'd suggest not installing it until you're ready to start it, and finishing it relatively quickly.

If you "frikkin love Skyrim"... then absolutely. It's the price of a T-shirt and it really does add a lot to the experience.

I too am addicted as you are, and enjoyed Dawnguard immensely. I'd say it's on par with Knights of the Nine from Oblivion, even. I don't make that statement easily, considering my love for that DLC. :P

I think it's decently more enjoyable than KOTN even.

I haven't played DG yet, but for those who have, how do you guys think it compares to some of the FO3/ NV DLCs?

I think it's decently more enjoyable than KOTN even.

In certain aspects, maybe. It's really just the concept I loved about the Knights of the Nine, and the rich lore surrounding it, Pelinal Whitestrake, the association with the Nine Divines, etc. I'm a big fan of both, and think they can hold up to each other in different respects.

I will say this, though. The armor of the Dawnguard is infinitely more badass, excluding the Crusaders Relics themselves.

Comparing it to fallout dlcs shouldn't be allowed lol out of all of the elder scrolls and fallouts from past till present.

1. Old world blues. Fallout new vegas. By far my favourite dlc it's humour is just awesome as well as all the other perks n weapons/armor an so on.

2. Shivering isles (oblivion) this dlc was awesome, great story, new world to explore it was made very well, but I also like blood moon as a joint 2nd with shivering isles but as shivering isles was a bit more updated it pushes 2nd a bit more.

3. Probably the mother ship dlc from fallout 3 because it was different from the wasteland an gave something more fun and weird lol.

4. Dawnguard. This maybe the newer of the dlcs but the ones above I Believe are better dont get me wrong dawnguard was fun an added some nice features but as me and alot of others had stated the features that dawnguard offer should have been in the base game of skyrim and not as a dlc. Todd Howard said they was gonna bring dlc with alot of meat on them but I'm sorry it just wasn't enough meat it's a bit of what you already had with some extra little features.

So that's my order an my opinion. The other dlcs on both games I wasn't really that interested in so I never listed them. Oh I did like hearthfire too but I can't really add that cause it wasn't much of a dlc as just a build a family/house type of thing but still pretty cool.

I just started DG and am enjoying it. I'm going Dawnguard for my first play through. The story is ok so far, and I enjoy the aesthetic of the vampire armor and dawnguard armor.

I absolutely had fun playing it and I would recommend it to anyone.

The story is as good or better than the main story. The Vampire lord is a fun new way to play. It fixes the scaling problem in the original game that made it impossible to play a werewolf at higher levels.

So yes.

Yes, Dawnguard is worth getting. Its a great quest chain and the addition of the werewolf and vampire trees make playing Skyrim much more entertaining! Now...is it MY favorite quest chain in the game? No. Its still better than most though.

The only thing stopping me from getting Dawnguard has so far been the price. Nearly 20€ was in my mind simply too much. With Steam's halloween sale just behind the corner it might be the time to finally buy it.
