The Dawnguard slaughtered everyone...

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 3:33 pm

Everytime I try walking somewhere instead of fast traveling I get jumped by Dawnguard hiding in the bushes or something. The Dawnguard also slaughter NPC in the towns. They townspeople were killed and disappered. I know it was the DG because ive never encountered any random vampire attacks

I dont like this. My character beat the mainquest, civil war, and vampire questlines and is suppose to be retired untill the next DLC, but i have to wear my gear and weapons everywhere i go.

This is as bad as like those Ceasers Legion or NCR assasin squads in New Vegas but they are still very annoying.

I remember that one time i had to use the console to kill NCR assassins that we're following me and OHKing me.

OT:I always find them in bushes but not in towns, you tried hitting them in the face with a weapon?

You will periodically be attacked by vampires and the dawnguard if you do the vampire questline, the attacks will be very frequent.

The dawnguard won't attack villages and cities, just you. The vampires attack everyone.

Well if you are a vampire or if you wronged the dawnguard then that makes you a viable target for their squads. I enjoy getting attacked by dawnguard and then finishing them off after their pathetic fail attempt...

I know your type also; the adventurer who retires and expects to live a life of peace. Well heads up, because someone you wronged in the past is going to come back in your life, wanting you dead and if you're not ready for it then you really will be retired...in the grave.

I know but this is just annoying. But in New Vegas Legion assasin squads wouldnt venture into the Strip and kill everybody, you were safe as long as you didnt venture far out. With Ulyssese in Lonesome Road i was able to deal with me past in my own time.

That's because at the time NCR were the one's who were protecting the strip and any legionaire squads who would be dumb enough to walk into the strip would get shot when the NCR got sight of them. The dawnguard are not outlawed; they have as much priviledge to wander around everywhere just like you do. And they are "normal people" and they're vampire hunters so you will have to just deal with them everywhere you go.

Think of it this way...they ruined your precious retirement plans so now you want to...say...get revenge? You will hate them one way or the other at this point and will want to destroy them.

I assume the reason the Dawnguard attacked citizens was because you had befriended those citizens so they came to your aid?

i play the vampire quest line and have been attacked by both dawnguard and vampires in and around cities but it doesnt happen very ooften and they only end up killing like one guard in the process..only thing that bugs me is every once in awhile i get a bounty for killing dawnguard when where not even close too a town ..but it only happens once in awhile

If you have your character come out of retirement for a bit, and do the Vampire Radiant Quests, then you can get this frequency to drop dramatically.

Once you get far enough into said radiant quests, you will get a Quest to go to Fort Dawnguard and wipe out the Dawnguard en masse.

Once this quest is active, even Isran loses his "essential" tag (I found the irony of finishing Isran off with a Bite Power Attack much too tempting to resist...), and wiping them out at their base greatly decreases the frequency of Dawnguard attacks. They will still happen, but the rate drops way down.

I do the same thing.

But there's something very satisfying about going to their home base and wading through them like a naughty Vampire God...
