Moving a bookshelf help

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 5:27 pm

Was modding my player home and ran into a snag.

I moved one of the bookshelves to a new location. I moved everything: the shelf, the containers, the collision objects, the book markers, the trigger etc, etc. But when i place books on it, they drop on the floor where the bookshelf was originally located.

I double & triple checked that i moved everything, and all looked in order. So i fired up a completely new game, and the bookshelf was working correctly.

Why does it not work right on my existing game? And how can i fix this without resorting to just completely deleting the bookshelf and creating a new one from scratch?

p.s. i've tried resetting the interior with the "resetinterior" console command and perging the buffer with "pcb", but they still fall on the floor in the old location.

There's nothing you can do.

The position of the bookcase is saved in your saved game (because that's what the game decided to do, is the easiest way to look at it).

From everything I've read on here, bookcases are awful things and alteration of them is a very big pain in the neck (so I'm not surprised you having issues).

Sadly, as far as I know, there is no way to make your amendments save-game compliant.

yeah thats what i figured.

I no touch the bookshelves anymore. :)

For a new game it's not a big deal, but i want the mod to be as existing-save compatible as possible.
