New Spell tomes

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:19 pm

So while looking for Akrav's head in the Soul Cairn, I stumbled across a little alter that had a new spelltome laying on it. This spelltome was Summon: Boneman! I thought it was pretty cool because Skyrim is a bit lackluster in terms of what we can conjure unlike the plethora of things we could in Oblivion.

But I was wondering if anyone else had come across other new spell tomes included in Dawnguard? If so, please post where you found them as well ^_^

If you join the Dawnguard you can buy a restoration spell that damages Vampires. Other than that I don't know. :P

You can find a Necromantic Healing spell in Dimhollow Crypt right after freeing Serana. It's laying on a table further into the crypt.

Well I have 100 conjuration so now I kinda want to figure out where that Summon Wrathman spell is! Getting bored o the dremoras as they merk EVERYTHING, and then there are my 3 atranotch thralls that are not really all that good as they always end up running in front of me when I fight and I kill em in a couple hits...

Got any ideas on where I can find this wrathman spell??

And another quck question if any1 thinks they can help with.
****Possible Spoilers****
In Castle Volikhar there are Death Hounds, and there is one in the great hall which I guess you can have follow you around (according to the conversation with it..). But when I try to get him to follow, a message appears saying that I already have a pet following me.. I beleive it may be the wild dog you find just outside Riverwood, but im not sure where in Skyrim that dog is lol as he is certainly not following me (doesnt even appear when I fast travel). Does he return back to where I originally found him so I can release him or something?

As stated, you can get Necromantic Healing spell in Dimhollow Crypt. In the soul cairn there is summon boneman, summon wrathman, summon mistman and summon Avark. They work like any other summoning spell.

On the dawnguard side, you are sent on a quest to get 3 other companions and once they arrive at the castle they become venders and can purchase Sun Fire, apprentice restoration, which works like fireball. Stendarr's Aura, adept restoration, which works like guardian circle and Vampire's Bane, adept restoration which works like a cloak spell.

This.

I understand that many things are well hidden in this expansion, but that's Bethesda's little way of breaking a lot of people in to not having their hands held quite so much (this is all my opinion and assumption). With a little exploring, all of these secrets will be yours. Just take the time to slow down and look everywhere.

After all, as far as your character is concerned, time is very much on your side. ;)

Well if you are positive that these are all in the Soul Cairn (I only was able to find the boneman conjure spell and Arvak the 1st time through), im shocked I missed them (normally I explore everything I can so I do not miss anything) and will go back to explore. ^_~

It's just a little more time-intensive in the Soul Cairn because there's no world map. You have to look at the Local Map, zoom way out, and look for areas that are still dark, you know, places that you haven't searched yet.

This method allowed me to explore every inch of the Cairn on my second run through during the Beta, and I'll bet real money that it still holds true now. :)

And collect the Soul Husks... there's many things that'll try to svck out your soul in there.

I actually have been collecting the soul husks and the souls you find in those cracks just because I like to take new ingrediants for alchemy. Not sure what the harvesting souls actually does for me though... Do I get some sort of bonus from them or something?

And do you know anything about the whole Death Dog dilema im having that I mentioned a few posts ago?

Harvesting Souls fills up any empty Soul Gems that you may have in your inventory. Black, Grand, Greater, Common, Lesser, Petty, it doesn't really matter. Every time you harvest Souls from a Soul Crack, it fills one gem up to its greatest capacity.

For Enchanters, this is a freaking goldmine!
