Help modding recipes

I originally posted this in the ACE thread but haven't received a reply and so thought I might try a wider audience...

Please could someone help - I am loving ACE Archery but as I also have Crafting 300 I would like to add Arrow Fletching and Arrow Shafts from Crafting 300 to the recipies for Long and Light Arrows from ACE Archery in place of Firewood (given those ingredients are craftable it is a bit immersion breaking that they are not required for the ACE arrows at the forge).

I have tried editing the recipies in the creation kit (with the ACE Archery .esp active) but while I have managed to delete Firewood from the recipies I cannot seem to make the addition of the Arrow Fletching and the Arrow shafts from Crafting 300 to stick - I can add them both to the recipies but once I save the changes and the game is started they just seem to disappear and on reloading the creation kit those ingredients have gone. I have tried both editing the ACE Archery esp and creating a new esp but neither seems to work.

I am sure that I am just doing something stupid as I am very new to the creation kit. Any help gratefully received

hm, you saved that right over a downloaded mod, right? did you check if steam maybe "updated" this on gamestart? perhaps it just downgraded your changes :-)
(and for saving as another mod, i think making a mod dependent on another one would require this (primary) mod to be an esm, which it likely won't be because steam doesn't allow?)

I use NMM so I don't think Steam is the culprit.

Could anyone confirm that I can't use an ingredient from Crafting 300 .esp in ACE Archery .esp??

If so is there any work around by creating a new .esm to include the ingredients for each .esp

Have you tried testing your plugin with a NEW GAME. Reason being, perhaps the originals are baked into your save?
