Dawnguard After Vampire (devs please hear this out)

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 4:55 am

I finished the Vampire and want to get the Crossbow abilities but now when I go to dawnguard they hate me and won't let me. And I know you could of been dawnguard then be vampire. I played it all before hearing that and now I'm done with vampire but the guy there they leader Isren i think? He is invincible so that means he can give you quests or he is involved later. And if you say "What about the other dawnguard" I killed them. Now if they were important they shouldn't die! But they did so I guess there not. I want beth to atleast let you do some quests for them that get you the Crossbows and make the bolts. I all wanted to do was to be a Vampire Hunter but be one myself. AND NO I don't want to start ALL OVER AGAIN I hate doing things i already did. No more surprise, you already know what to do so it get boring. Please fix that Bethesda please!

They always advertised it as dawnguard OR vampire, not dawnguard then vampire.

Dawnguard can become VL after the main quest line, Vampires are just screwed with nothing but the castle. It isn't a bad idea, but I don't think they would implement that. It'd be great though, Castle Vorkihar and Dawnguard working together to take down the feral and wild vampires. It is really disappointing that I won't be able to get the better crossbows nor be able to craft bolts since I chose VL.

So you finished the Vamp side, and thought the Dawnguard side was still joinable? Excuse me if im a bit brash, but that has no logic..
Its either one or the other. Kinda like the civil war, but both with different tastes.
But im afraid you'll have to stick with a regular crossbow

Amen. Vampire Hunters, working with Vampires?
If you're a Vampire, YOU'RE THE THING THEY WANT TO KILL! As long as they don't know it, and apparently they force you to cure yourself if you are a Vampire. This isn't some sort of negotiable political grievance...This is about creatures of the night, and the things that hunt them. There are not negotiations in this.

I actually prefer that you can't do both from atleast one side. My decisions in this game don't really have consequences... Mostly. It's nice to have a change and actually have to stick with a choice that I made.

The real issue isnt that we should be able to do both quest lines, we shouldnt.

Its that the Vampires get a huge shaft up their asses. The DG questline lets you have everything. The Vampire line has a better story but it comparatively screws you up real good when it comes to the DLC goodies.

Sadly as far as I know only the Dawnguard give you quests to upgrade the crossbow.

I was disappointed to find out that you can't craft crossbows and bolts. I mean if I can join the DG and still be a VL, why can't I craft crossbows/bolts? In terms of rewards the dawnguard win by a landslide. You can even blot out the sun(temporarily of course).

I intend to never let chars who chose DG to be VLs, it just isn't right. Still, it'll be an annoying temptation.

Serana can still turn you, as long as you dont convince her to cure her Vampirism.

You sir have no logic. Here is some simple logic for you
Dawnguard = Vampire hunters
Dawnguard = Hate vampires
You = Join Dawnguard
You = Betrayed Dawnguard to be Vampire Lord
You = Want upgraded crossbow to hunt your own kind
You = Go to Dawnguard
Dawnguard = Attack you
Dawnguard = Hate You
Simple logic. Why do you think they wouldn't attack you in the first place?!?!?

This all sounds badly put together to me.

Crossbows are a weapon a lot of people wanted. And they're just a weapon - if they're in the world, they're in the world - period. Everyone should get full crossbow benefits no matter who they side with.

And allowing Dawnguard members to still be a VL is just lame as hell.

They should have given you a stark choice -
Vampires = VL
Dawnguard = Specific powers/spells giving you a big edge against undead opponents and maybe a couple of other DG unique spells and/or powerful unique weapon/armour

Stark choice - Light or darkness - powers to reflect either choice - undead or undead slayer - you choose, you stick with choice.

Not Oooh I fight vampires...except now I'm a Vampire Lord LOL.

Man, Bethesda are getting progressively worse in they way they design this stuff.
