Dawnguard Roleplaying

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:42 pm

Though only the Xbox 360 owners have the DLC now and I don't know how big the roleplayers are on consoles (even though I'm one), is anyone having fun roleplaying their story as either Dawnguard or Vampires?

My Vampire, Cytus, got increasingly crazy after becoming one and soon converted all of his ambition as a mage into serving his Lord, Harkon, in thanks for his wonderful gifts.

My Dawnguarder, Kek, is between learning Restoration magic and training himself to become a force of unstoppable rage toward all Vampires. He even patrols farms and inspects homes if he suspects one is near, since he can smell them due to his werewolf blood.

My main character probably won't touch Dawnguard for weeks.

My Dunmer Pure Mage is caught up in student life at the College but one may only resist the trappings of power for so long.

The one I'm using was the one I roleplayed in vanilla and his adventures are not over. He is a Dark Elf, Nightblade Vigilante. After hearing about a vampire hunting clan was being formed he knew something big was up. He had to go and check it out.

Not a huge roleplayer, but every now and then I do find some interesting, story-like thoughts going through my head.

For example,

Spoiler
When bringing Serana's mother, Valerica, back from the Soul Cairn after killing Harkon, for some reason I imagined her riding on my back (I generally travel the Soul Cairn as a vampire lord...faster movement than horses and more stamina) as I flew.

Other things like character profile and all that....not really.

I mean, I named him Diddle. Because that "word" makes me laugh.

But, if you want...

Diddle is a wood elf who was renowned as one of the best archers in all of Valenwood when he suddenly went missing. He was the last of his family there, so nearly no one knew of his disappearance - they simply thought it was a hunting trip gone-wrong. However, when he woke up, he was on a carriage with two gloom-stricken Nords and a nervous Breton. After discovering he was a Dragonborn and (blah blah blah)... Upon learning his true potential as a vampire, he quickly sought to glean any knowledge he could from Harkon - his new master. However, as his master's blood coursed in his veins, he couldn't help but feel uneasy.

There was something terribly wrong with this man.

Vezik-En is an Argonian adventurer-knight known all across Skyrim for his heroism and bravery when fighting any foe. He was used to being attacked by roving Vampire packs during the night, but he learns that Vampires are venturing into cities to attack the innocent people. He knows something big is going on...

  • My Imperial joined the dawngaurd and is doing what he to stop the threat, but knows not all vamps are evil because he was one for a while.
  • My Britan mage on the other hand excepted Harkon's gift but only to gain the power and knowledge , those are his only concerns.
  • My nord paladin on the other hand kills all he deams "unholy"
  • and I havent figured out what my other characters will do yet.

My Imperial intended to stay with the dawnguard, but when he set eyes on Serana he knew he would do anything to be with her. After defeating Harkon he is now a retired recluse living in Solitide. He understands that Serana doesnt want to marry, and he will still love her. Although he resents what he has become and wishes to adventure in the sun with no ill effects. With the constant threat of attack from the Dawnguard he may soon be faced with a difficult choice of whether to part ways with Serana and Harkons gift, or continue to reluctantly fight the Dawnguard and risk his reuptation within the holds of Skyrim.

Very nice, I'm sure a lot of people went that way when they met Serana, haha. My Vampire wanted to get rid of her since he wanted to side with Harkon, so he just never lets her follow him.

My Dunmer Listener/Vampire is having fun right now. Right up his alley. Going in VL form and killing everything he encounters in the wilds, leaving the cities alone though as he is not stupid and knows he needs cattle.
Played him as a vamp long before rumors of Dawnguard as I felt it fit him. I actually did not like the vanilla vamp powers etc. pure RP purposes only.

My Altmer mage joined the DG as I feel that fits him best. Because of Altmer faith I cannot see him doing anything with Daedric Princes, least of all Molag Bal. There are obviously Altmer that become vampires but to him they are disgusting and no longer real elves.

For both my fav chars it added great RP options

My new Dawnguarder, a Redguard only going by the name of "The Weaponmaster", recently joined up. A recovering mass murderer, he sates his blood lust through cannibalism of bandits to avoid crime and publicity. When fighting off the vampires in Dimhollow Cave, he was infected and struggled to redeem himself. Thankfully, he was directed to Falion to cure his vampirism. He still struggles with his cannibalistic urges, now feeding on vampires to get closer to his prey.
