Argonian Face Editing

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 9:49 am

Today I have encountered a really odd problem with Argonians. For some reason there heads do not appear in the CK preview window. If I use the "Preview" option I can see their entire body. If I use the "head" option all that appears is the eyes, mouth, and teeth. I can see any skin, cheeks, nose, hair and so on. This only happens with Argonians, and no other races. Is there a way to fix this? I am having a really rough time editing the face feature when I can't see the face.

I don't think there is any known fix for this yet, but one way that you can work around that is by using the regular "preview" option, get the camera as close to the face as possible, and then for each change you make to the face you select "preview" again to refresh it. It's a real PITA, but it works. There might be a mod or something somewhere that lets you modify the facegen data in-game, but I don't remember what it is or how it works.

Oh yes, I should also mention that adding scars to NPCs is a complete PITA as well, because scars don't show up for any of the races in the head view except Argonians, and there is no way to preview a scar before you add it to the NPC. Argh! :brokencomputer:

There's a mod on the Nexus called 'Argonian Decapitation Fix'. Don't know if it fixes the issue in the Editor, but it does fix the invisible Argonian male decapitated heads in-game, so it might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I've noticed the issue with the scars as well. And I'll try to hunt down that mod. Maybe it'll work. If not I'll just keep going the way I am.

Anyway, maybe Bethesda may decide to fix the issues mentioned here eventually. There's got to be another patch coming soon.

Thanks! This fishy stick appears to have been handled by a pirate recently. This makes it even more delicious! But then I laughed and got fishy stick everywhere when the forum yelled at me for trying to quote your link. Curse my not-famous-enough-yet-ness.

You could try Modder Resource - Easy NPC Creation by AmethystDeceiver

. It's been sitting in my NMM for quite some time but I've never used it.

I figured out that you can remove a scar if you don't like the way it looks on your NPCs. You just select the scar in question, and simply press the "Delete" key and the scar is removed.

Really? I'll have to give it try later. Thanks for that.
