He never attacks anyone for me. He always waits for me to enter the town, then walks up to me, and yells at me. Then draws his sword and attacks me only, but I kill him pretty quick usually. What people need to be afraid of are the large groups of vampires that come into town and start mass murdering people. Riften and Riverwood suffered a slaughter, but luckily I had a close save.

See I had te same issue, also on a side note, after completing the dg main quest I haven't had him or the pack of random vamps spawn..so has anyone confirmed they stop after the mq? I'm sure this isn't as bad as it seems but this whole thing has me paranoid to play on my 300+hour main save.

i, along with other people hate this vampire invades towns [censored]. no-one wants a ghost town unless they kill the npc's themself. vampires will attack in groups and if your lucky by the gate you spawn at, if your unlucky across the other side of town obliterating npc's, then there the mysterious traveller who is known for creeping into npc's housing and murdering them without your knowledge, then theres the risk of death hounds coming in to join the party. if bethesda does remove the attacks on towns and cities and keeps them in the wilderness i will be able to play skyrim again without extreme paranoia. although i would have to reload 10-20 hours before my recent save i guess its better than not being able to play skyrim again right?

my save is 287 hours, i feel your paranoia too bro, im too scared to finish the dawnguard main quest. not to mention i know that some npcs have been killed because of this feature because i recieved and inheritance note from a courier. im not touching skyrim again until this issue has been sorted out
