SetQuestDelay

So, while aimlessly wandering around the wiki, today, I came across that ^^^^

I searched on here and the only mention of it I could find was by Justin (just after the CK had launched, early February) discussing it's similarity to RegisterForSingleUpdate.

And I was thinking ... by Default SetQuestDelay is set for 5 seconds (you can alter it by Quest, in pap-script, or Globally via your ini file) ... Is this having an effect on the issues we sometimes see some people experiencing?

Not really expecting an answer ... just putting it out there ... (mainly in case anyone else hasn't seen it and had no idea such a variable/setting existed)

It all makes sense now! Thanks for posting that.

I definitely felt that things got faster when I stopped putting everything in quest scripts and started putting everything I could in dialogue scripts, instead.

Is that function still relevant for Skyrim? It made sense with how quest scripts work in previous games, but Skyrim's scripting system is completely different. To be honest I'd expect this to be completely vestigial.

I was hoping for some theories. Like I put in the OP, it was quite a surprise to stumbled across it in the wiki.

Sometimes the wiki notes when something is "no longer is use", for Skyrim and no such note exists ... But I think most of us know the wiki started life as the Fallout wiki (at some point), so yes it could well have just got "left behind".

Any more info (Gold-Names in particular) very much appreciated.

If it is in use, and noting ingenue's post above, I do wonder whether it does have an effect on scripts that could be moved outside of Quests (given our fad has always been to use a Quest as a "container" for just about anything)?

For now, I've flagged the page as "incomplete" so viewers are made aware that its content may not be accurate and added a note to the talk page with a link to this thread.

EDIT:

Ninja JustinOther beat me to flagging the page as incomplete, but I still got to the talk page first :P

Can I assume this has now been confirmed as not-working/obsolete?
