I posted this question a while back, but never really got an answer. I can't find the original post so I thought I'd put up a new one. I need to find out if it's possible to duplicate existing exterior cells. Essentially, what I want to do is take an area of Skyrim several cells wide - say, the woods surrounding Falkreath - and copy it into my own worldspace.

If you've ever seen the movie Constantine with Keanu Reeves, I basically want to do what they did with Hell - it's just a hellish version of the "real" world. I'm hoping the CK or a 3rd-party tool will allow me to copy & paste (so to speak) exterior chunks of Skyrim and then customize the copy.

Hmmm, this may or may not be helpful, but here's what I can say on the matter:

You cannot copy single cells in the CK, (I know for certain) or otherwise (I think...).

You can duplicate entire worldspaces, though I'm not sure if the tools exist for Skyrim yet. For my FNV mod, Deimos, I have a past and present version of a worldspace. I used FNVEdit and one other program* that I can't remember to copy the worldspace, then I altered it. Leaving me with two nearly identical, yet dramatically different areas.

I don't think you can just copy a few cells, only the entire worldspace.

However, maybe you can create a new worldspace and parent it to the Tamriel worldspace. Someone more experienced with parenting will have to elaborate on whether or not that's possible, and how to do it. I've never attempted it before.

If I make my worldspace a child of the Tamriel worldspace, will it automatically copy the Tamriel exterior cells? I'll have to play around with this tonight and see...
