Curing Serana problems; Intended or Glitch?

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 6:45 am

So after being very nice to Serana and sticking up to her for the entire DLC it seems I asked one question too many or too early regarding a cure for her vampirism and now she's stuck like that.

What I don't know if it is intended or if it's a glitch with the dialogue options as they are stuck in an endless loop (with the not nice sounding answer making her angry and asking you to not talk about it again).

I can understand her not wanting to turn if you were a [censored] to her during the Dawnguard questline but if you were nice to her for the duration it seems weird for her to blow you off like she does.

So is it a glitch? Or will I have to svck it up, load and old save from 7 or 8 hours ago and do the Soul Cairn, Vale and the final quest again to see if it works?

You can't mention it to her the entire time you are with her until after the MQ, she looks...less than she does as a Vampire lets put it like that.

She tells you she loves being a vampire so I never asked, I could turn her into a human but I respect her wishes though now she is tempting me with Vampirism.

She looks like she has Malaria when cured...in place of her very cool vampire eyes and look from what I'm told.

Yeah I have this myself, some people have said NOT to ask her about getting cured until after the main quests are completed. This is supposed to happen regardless of which side you choose.

I asked her and u have to choose the right dialogue if u say,, u shud get cured cus it makes ur feel uneasy she has don't want to talk about but chose...I think it's the first line she goes away for a day or so and comes back normal. And body notice that her eyes still glow? Not vampire glow

Similar to the werewolf eyes on Aela, Vilkas and "Skeever-brain".

I didn't even see an option re: cure until after main quest. She didn't get mad. Just said she's off to talk to somebody & refused my offer to come along. Oh, a couple minutes earlier I asked her what her plans were & she said she'd stay with the Guard so I asked her to stay with me & she was happy I said that.

I quit for the night. If she comes back less awesome, I'll reload.

you asked too early, you can only bring it up after the DGMQ/VLMQ not before to get her to change, but as others have stated her eyes look terrible when she's cured, and she acts the same regardless so I'd advise against it

I'm wonder if this is either a) a response to the outcry that there are no consequences for our actions, so the devs deliberately made it so initiating dialogue at a certain point would have a different reaction to later; or B) just an oversight.

And that's not a cynical wondering at all - I'm genuinely interested.

This is an already known glitch. It is a variant of the "separation glitch" where if you tell her to leave your side, You don't get the option to have her join again.

Does anyone have a pic or link to upload of Serana cured? I'm curious, people saying she looks more diseased as a human than as a vampire.

I have no problem having her be my companion, i just can't cure her.
