Serana is Not a Good Companion

For stealth based combat. She summns the undead, and they don't sneak, so enemies detect us to clickly. Stop summoning the dead Serana, just stop. Okay.

We're trying to fight a deathlord Scourge, but bimbo Serana keeps dropping dead. I can take him, got a good chunk of his health down, but companion is cannon fodder. She should be able to take more hits than that. My Nightblad is pretty squishy, runs around to not get hit when he is detected. But he also needs a distraction. I set up moves.

Try a house Carl there's weak damage wise but the heavy armor and shield make them great tanks. Just tell her to attack him first then after she hits him a few times then you go in.

I use her to draw attention. Sneak's at 100 and it's pretty easy to avoid detection even when they're charging right at us. I crouch and move out of the way, they charge right at her, I hit them all in the back while they gang up on Serana.

I kept her around throughout Dawnguard because she was a very lively companion but eventually went back to my bestie and forever sidekick Darkeethus.

I give my companions a suit of enchanted super smithed armour anyway so they're all tanks for me. I was actually disappointed at how weak the DLC enemies were. My follower is still the only enemy that can put up a good fight against me.

I cured her of vampirism so she could stop making comments about the almighty sun and what does she still do, she says * the sun is bad for my skin * That [censored] :swear:

Dang and here I thought I could send Erik home, so I didn't have to worry about him. Serana is marked as essential, but if she's that bad I'll have to rethink that one.

I rarely use companions but I didn't find her that bad, to be honnest probably one of the most interesting companions/characters. Granted, my character is the tank and I don't really sneak, so I don't mind her staying in the back shooting ice pikes, summoning undead, and draining life. If I was trying to be sneaky, it would be a problem I guess, which I think is what the people are referring to.

But I don't always bring her with me and she'll be gone eventually.

Almost all companions are bad for stealth based characters, and mage based characters for that matter. I avoid companions on most of my characters.

That's good to know as my character is also a tank. He doesn't sneak much. Only my sneak character's don't have companions, as I really like some of the comment's they make.

She is pretty annoying since i'm using a sneak character, which she ends up ressurecting bodys left and right. The result is I lose my sneak attack bonuses and causes me to waste arrows/bolts, well I could always make more arrows thank god but still a pain.

I just dislike how any major battle ends with Serana adding at least two more ash piles to the world. Even resting 30 days on the other bloody side of Skyrim doesn't get rid of most of them. This was the reason I hated fighting necromancers and is the same reason I do not allow Serana to accompany me. I'm OCD that way. I hate permanent ash piles -_-

Pplease don't get me wrong, I enjoy her character and how much "better" she seems to be as a social companion on my travels. But nerfing my Vampire Lord and making a mess are totally uncool :P

Wasn't that fixed with 1.4?
(I don't use Conjuration much, so I haven't been paying much attention to it)

After wabbajacking Jordis to bring her level up to fifty, and then giving her super armor, she isn't just powerful...she's almost as powerful as my main character. She can three shot me and even if I bring her health down, Konahrik brings it back. Oh, and I turned her into a vampire.

I thought I had to take her on a quest, so I sent Erik home only he hasn't left the Canyon yet. She has NO sense of personal space. I don't know if it's a small glitch but she seem's to like to glue herself to Derik's side. In 1st person she can't alway's be seen cause she's so close. I only know she's their because she does the "Did you need something" then I hit 3rd person.
