Heightmap import problem

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 3:57 pm

Hello,
I have some problem with the Creation Kit Heightmap Editing:
I already have a heightmap in the 16bit raw format with 1024x1024 and I want to import this heightmap.
If I try to import this heightmap with the Creation Kit, then the Creation Kit crashes.
I also tried TESAnnwyn-0.23beta for creating an .esp, but I didnt get a suitable result.
Is there any way to import the heightmap directly in the Creation Kit?
I would highly appreciate any assitance/suggestions!

The CK import heightmap function doesn't work afaik.
What was wrong with the tesannwyn esp and what command line did you use to create the esp ?

Unless they fixed it at some point, the CK's import feature doesn't work and TESAnnwyn must be used. But it works just fine with some tweaking/know-how, certainly you can get the desired result.

My guess is your highest point is white on the heightmap... you have to make it much darker, because you can't specify a max height, and if your highest point is white, it will be extremely high and there will be splits in the terrain because it's too steep.

Thank you all for your fast answers! :goodjob:

In TESAnnwyn I used these options:

tesannwyn -i Skyrim -w OldCamp -p 1 -b 16 -d 1024x1024 -x -64 -y -64 -0 -h -8192 -s 0.8 Oldcamp.raw

As result I got some terain below the sea level.

The heightmap is the heightmap of the Old Camp from the game Gothic 1

I used this raw: http://uploaded.net/file/hfrw6dw0

What can I do to lift this map on the right altitude?

My ohter problem is that if I change the scale-value: -s 0.8 to something else, TESAnnwyn creates just some strange terain.
