During the final figjt with Harkon the Chalice was in the chest left of the door, i took it.

But the radiant Vampire quests have me gathering things for the Chalice, which is fixed on a pedastal in Castle Volkihar.

Then I tried dropping the one i have, and it just floats in a fixed position in the air, untill I take it again.
