Creation kit tutorial problem

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 1:37 pm

Hey guys. I'm brand new to using the creation kit and I seem to be having a problem. I've followed the tutorial for Layout 1 exactly how it showed, I even watched the video. For some reason when I go to load the layout using "coc LokirsTomb" this pops up:

GetInFaction >> 1.00
GetStage >> 0.00
GetActorValue: Variable10 >> 0.00
GetIsID >> 0.00
GetActorValue: Variable04 >> 0.00
GetActorValue: Variable04 >> 0.00
GetInFaction >> 0.00

I have no idea what any of those mean and I don't know if I did something wrong or if I'm not entering it right. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Andrew

Make sure the coc name is exactly as the cell is named in the editor and (hate to ask) you do have a coc marker in the dungeon?

^^^^^^^ And/OR

Have you remembered to check that your MOD is loading?

At the loader screen, click Data-Files and make sure there is a check next to the name of your mod.

Yep, I have done all of those. The name is correct. I have a coc marker in the dungeon, and I'm sure that it is in the data-files before I play the game.

I tried making just one simple room and that file loaded up fine. But the tutorial mod i make won't load. I even downloaded the tutorial example they give you to download and that one won't load either.

Stumped! Only suggestion is if you can get your small room to run, then go with that turn it into lokirstomb, leave the name as you have it now.

Bit of advice make sure you have plenty of back-ups of your mods, I usually keep about 3 extra copies dating back from previous days in different directories.

The way you're capitolizing it makes me think you're typing the cell's name, not it's editor ID. When you created the cell it was like BlaBlaOldCellDUPLICATE, and you changed that to something. Type what you changed it to.

If I call a cell MyHiddenAwesomeCell, but make it's name 'Hidden Cell', I type the first thing in after coc, not the second thing. Make sure you're typing it's editor ID in, exactly as it is in the CK.

Alexander I think you're right. Unfortunately this time when I loaded up the creation kit the cell view tab is checked off in the view option in the bar above the toolbar. The window for that isn't shown. Its just a piece of a tab that says Cell view on it without it having a window underneath. I don't know if it's something that I did or if the a problem with the creation kit but I reinstalled the creation kit and the same thing happens. Does anybody know if I can fix?
