stuck with the scrolls

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 5:59 pm

so i believe i have finished the dawngaurd questline for the vampire lords, by becoming the master of the castle and killing the main guy. but i am still stuck with all three elder scrolls in my inventory still listed as quest items. i am on the 360 and cant figure out how to drop the 60 weight they equal out to.
i have tried going back to the orc at winterhold college and selling them but that didnt work. is there a quest i am missing or are they just stuck with me for the rest of my game,

i know this is a lame question, but anyhelp would be great. thanks

As a result of them being quest items, they do not affect your carry weight at all. (if you want to check, just store all of your non-quest items and see what your carry weight is.) However if you want to make quick cash out of them, you can sell two of them to the moth priest for 6000 gold.

Im pretty sure since the Moth Priest is your thrall, he has no interest in buying them and bringing them back to cyrodil...therefore i think you are stuck with them.

My mistake then. I assumed that both the dawn-guard side and the vampire side get to sell their elder scrolls to him.
Looks like your gonna have to keep them, but at least they arent affecting your carry weight.

I played on the dawnguard side and you can sell the two scrolls obtained from the DLC back to him but then your stuck with the scroll from the main questline, but im pretty sure you can store it after the quest is done.

And guess what? Next DLC, you'll need all three Elder Scrolls agan, plus a new one!
Seriously, selling an Elder Scroll sounds like someone shooting themself in the foot. It would be nice if we could store them though, or display them in a locked case.

After you complete the Main MQ you might try selling them to the librarian at the College.

I would never sell things that are as powerful as the Elder Scrolls. I wish I had a fancy display case for them though.

The only way to drop all the scrolls, and the attendant carry weight, is to do this before the Main Quest, complete the quest to learn Dragonrend, give or sell the Blood and Sun scrolls to Dexius and the Dragon scroll to the librarian. Otherwise, you are plain stuck.

well i dropped all the items i could (i.e except quest related ones) and had a weight of zero, while holding the scrolls. so its not a actual weight issue, but a presummed issue when seeing the game says twenty weight each. but i figured out my problem. i had to many soul gems and potions, i dont ever sell them. got rid of alot plus the nightengale armor which i switched out for ancient falmer armor (wish there was a helmet. but the nightengale hood works quite well with my characters style)

Exactly. I mean, after all, the whole entire game series is only named after them. Who would've thought that they'd be useful, powerful and essential? It'd be like someone selling a nuke to a librarian.

I've haven't yet tried to sell any of them. So while this maybe a silly question, I'd really like to know. Are the Elder Scroll's the only sellable item that isn't storeable/dropable? ( I know the quest's have to be done before they can be sold)
