There a way to learn how to craft Steel Bolts outside of joi

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 3:01 pm

I'm on my Assassin character who happened to join the vampires, and I notice he can't craft Steel Bolts like my other char (who joined the DG)

There a misc. quest I can undertake or something to learn to craft Steel Bolts? Love the crossbow for killing guards and whatnot but I'm down to 8 Dwarven Bolts. :(

No only people who join dawnguard can craft crossbow bolts.

Hm, in my own experiences, assassins make lots of things. Such as their own poison, custom arrows and daggers. Suppose I'll have to do it the fun way, though.

I like the thought of killing them and taking it. if they only carried other than regular crossbows.

Last night I lead an assault on Castle Dawnguard..only 5-6 people there, and Isran was un-killable. What reason could he have for being essential at this point? (finished the Vampire questline and am pretty much done on my file)

At least I got 100+ bolts.

There is a radiant quest for vampires where you kill all the dawnguard leaders. The quest is more along the lines of "Yeah these guys are kinda annoying can you take care of them?"

I say this again, but this time for the topic starter - start that quest, but never finish it, use pacify on them and you can use them as merchants to buy bolts. But only steel bolts, and crossbows, sadly. If you want dwarven go kill and loot dwarven spheres.

No, so go to dwarf ruins.

Any of the dwarf ruins, even on the old "dead" metal sphere guy corpses, had

Dwarven bolt (10 )

on them.

You end up with uber loads of dwarven bolts, then can go back to get more after some time when its refreshed.

There are quite a few dwarven ruins.

I was looking for falmer heavy armor, when I stumbled into one and kept finding Dwarven bolt (10), on all the
sphere corpses on the ground (which never had them of course, prior to dawnguard) along with the other stuff
they refresh, like a sould gem and dwarven oil or something.

Go to dwarven ruins and get lucky with a few spheres, or use my idea to buy hundreds on the spot? Easy choice.
