Vertical lines on face in game; no lip color

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:16 am

I am extremely perplexed as to why when I create a follower in the “Creation Kit” everything works as it should –except for the lip color and the face having vertical lines. After you click Crtl > F4 and then save the .esp file everything thing looks as it should except for three things: The lip color of choice is not present in the game; (just ordinary flesh color); and the faces have vertical lines; and, the makings on the upper forehead are also present.

I have watched many videos on how to create an NPC and Follower, but no one explains how to correct the above errors. Can someone please explain to me why this is happening and how to correct it? I would be much appreciative. Thank you.

when you click ctrl + f4, does it say the face gen was created in a pop-up window?

I tried it but it doesn't do anything to change my CK created follower. My follower still has no makeup and the unmatched skin tone: And, yes I did press Control - F4 before saving.

Either uninstall your face texture replacer, or temporarily rename you tintmasks folder (Data\Textures\actors\character\character assets\tintmasks). Then do the ctrl+f4 thing, save, reinstall/re-rename tintmasks. Thats how Ive always had to do it.

By the Gods it worked! Now when I go back into the game using SKSE and after renaming the file back to "tintmasks" I will be one happy camper. Thanks.
