CK Versus Installed Mods: Do they work against each other?

I am having a problem with my characters showing up in game without the proper assigned facial textures--lip gloss and eyeliner and such. I have read some on the subject, but regardless of what I do it seems to never work. If I create a character in the CK and try to fix the character within the NPC Editor I either get an exception error in loading the character into the NPC Editor or the character does load into the NPC Editor. Then when I change things and then save it, the game crashes to the desktop.

Does anyone please have any suggestions or tips on how to accomplish creating my characters as intended? Thank you.

I suggest (and use) Amethyst Deceiver's awesome NPC creator resource.

In conjunction with the Expanded Skyrim presets mod and it makes creating great looking NPC's a breeze for me. I make the ugliest NPC's youd ever see without these utilities!

In a nutshell, what you do is create your NPC's appearance in the GAME, save that data and then import that into your NPC in the CK.

EDIT: Also, don't forget to export your data after creating you NPC by selecting the NPC, and hold down Ctrl and hit F4. It should export the data and propmt you to hit Done when it finishes. Hope that helps.
