Critical Bugs are defined as bugs that need fixing, right now. Seriously. These are bugs that make user plugins utterly useless, breaking them and causing major errors in game.
Major Bugs are defined as bugs in which functionality is broken in such a way that there is no effective solution, or the solution is far from ideal. Also includes bugs which can affect user plugins and cause errors in game.
Medium Bugs are defined as bugs in which functionality is broken, however where there are workarounds available in order to circumvent the issue. Also includes repeatable crashes and issues which require a restart of the CK.
Minor Bugs are defined as bugs which are more of an annoyance than a hindrance. These include bugs which are easily fixable and don't negatively affect user plugins.
Game-Side Bugs are defined as bugs which are on the game-side, but which also affect user-made mods.

Bugs highlighted yellow are issues which have been acknowledged by Bethesda, however which a fix has not been confirmed.
Bugs highlighted orange are issues which have been acknowledged by Bethesda, and have also confirmed to have a fix in the works.
Bugs highlighted green with a strikethrough are issues which have been fixed by Bethesda in a patch.
Bugs highlighted violet with a strikethrough are issues which have not been fixed by Bethesda, however where an unofficial user made fix is available that solves the issue.
Bugs highlighted red are issues which have been acknowledged by Bethesda, however where it has been confirmed that the issue won't be fixed in the foreseeable future.

There are numerous bug topics all over the Creation Kit forum, and these get lost so quickly amongst all the general questions and advice topics. Like the Unofficial Skyrim Bugs topic, my aim is to have a centralised topic where we can list the bugs in order for the devs to see, and hopefully fix. When posting a bug, categorise it into one of four levels: Critical Priority, Major Priority, Medium Priority and Minor Priority. This will make it easy to differentiate between a mod-breaking bug, and one where it's only a minor issue. If the issue is linked, it means there's a topic or post that explains the bug in more detail.

  • Patch 1.6 has introduced a critical bug relating to dialogue. Attempting to modify vanilla dialogue in any way or creating your own will result in it becoming completely broken, with the audio and lip sync failing to work. It also causes any attached result script to fail to function. This is a very serious issue which affects almost all CK users.

  • Moving or rotating any marker (x marker, coc marker, roombounds etc) that's been added in the current plugin (i.e. doesn't have a mod index of 00) doesn't cause the Creation Kit to mark the plugin as changed (* tag). Therefore it seems as if it's saved when in reality your changes will be lost on exit. The CK doesn't even notify you if the plugin should be saved, it just closes without any prompts, causing you to lose any changes made.

  • Using Ctrl-F4 to export facial data will not work the first time the NPC is created. The Creation Kit must be completely restarted in order to extract the facial data properly.

still not possible to select Dawnguard from the CK, I guess the manual adjustment is required.

Please excuse me, if this is silly, or known, or too minor an issue, or irrelevant, or whatever, as I have not consistently followed this topic. But Anyway:

I have always been annoyed by how Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\RendererInfo.txt seems to get continuously appended with the same information each time I launch the Creation Kit, and for no obvious reason I can think of.

P.S. Oh, and to pre-empt certain types of possible comments, that file is indeed a part of the CK package. If you never install the CK, you don't get that file, and the game itself makes use of a similarly named file in the My Games folder.

I never even noticed that. It's a bug, but I'd consider it pretty minor.

One of my own I'm going to report again, as it's still happening with CK 1.8.

At unpredictably random times, the CK will just crash of its own accord, dumping the following error data when it does:

I'm not alone in this, but apparently nobody knows what's causing it and therefore has no idea how to stop it from happening. I'd consider this at least a major bug because it can happen without warning and obviously costs you whatever unsaved work was done during that session.

Has anyone else had issues now opening the Creation Kit? Usually during the first attempt (after it being closed for a long while) the "Starting Creation Kit" Steam window will come up, and then the CK will quickly disappear, then the Steam window will come up, and then this repeats over and over again until I have to forcibly End Process on Steam.exe. It happens very fast, this cycle, but I can still manage to try and click Cancel but it doesn't help.

It's my gut instinct to blame the CK since we know how wonderful its track record has been so far. As well as it just starting to occur with the latest CK update.

One of my own I'm going to report again, as it's still happening with CK 1.8.

At unpredictably random times, the CK will just crash of its own accord, dumping the following error data when it does:

I have never experienced this. It is possible that Steam or the CK may be conflicting with another program, perhaps your antivirus. Turn it off and see whether or not the problem stops.

Please excuse me, if this is silly, or known, or too minor an issue, or irrelevant, or whatever, as I have not consistently followed this topic. But Anyway:

I have always been annoyed by how Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\RendererInfo.txt seems to get continuously appended with the same information each time I launch the Creation Kit, and for no obvious reason I can think of.

P.S. Oh, and to pre-empt certain types of possible comments, that file is indeed a part of the CK package. If you never install the CK, you don't get that file, and the game itself makes use of a similarly named file in the My Games folder.

I'd consider that a very minor bug, but I've added it anyway. Thanks for the info.

I believe I found a bug, which I consider a medium..

However, I'm still using the previous CK version, but it's probably better for someone with the 1.8 CK to check just in case.

It seems Trees cannot be moved via Reference Editor box. When you right click to bring up the Reference box, I notice they are deselected in the render window and not highlighted in pink/purple in the Cell View window. When you attempt to change directional values(through the arrows or numerical input) nothing happens. That being said, if you need to place Tree/plant objects..you have to place them carefully unless you want floating statics that you can't reposition on the Z axis.

Edit: Well I suppose I know why this was never reported if anyone else ran into it. An easy work around is to press E.

Statics in random exterior cells become invisible in the CK, but still selectable. To correct this, hit '1' to cycle through the visibility toggles until it becomes visible again.
Spoke too soon again, this one is still here. Just ran into it while probing door marker links, which is always how it has manifested before.

Damn! I could have sworn those had been fixed. Every time I tested, I never experienced either bug.

Anyways, I've unchecked them now. Thanks for the info.

I would like to submit a bug. I'm using the latest version of the Creation Kit (1.8.151.0).

Near new plugin - basically empty.

If I make a new QUEST form, add a script to it subsequently filling any properties (two in my case) and then try to save it for the first time, I will crash every time without fail.

To get around this I made the new QUEST form and only filled the QUEST ID parameter then saved, then re-opened and did what I needed to do. I didn't receive any crashes on subsequent saves.

I haven't run into that one myself either, but that doesn't mean it's not happening to some people. Skyrim seems to be a polymorph in that regard. Things that work for one person don't work for another, and the same two people could have the exact opposite set of issues.
