Spell making still impossible?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 1:00 am

This is still a feature I desperately miss. I just can find a reason to be a mage when all I have are the same basic boring spells that hardly scale to amount to anything.

Is it really still impossible to mod this??

Since when is spell making impossible? We've been making custom spells in Ethas for quite some time now.

They might be talking about making your own spells in game, like past titles.

Oh I should have specified, custom spell making in game, with variable magnitude for dmg...

Spell effects are now user-created as opposed to hard-coded, and many spells such as Firebolt have multiple magic effects. Spellmaking is not feasible.

There's no need to bash others for something they'd like to be added into the game. I quite liked spell creation, and it would have been a good addition to Skyrim as well.
While I do agree(and disagree highly with Shroob's condescension), he unfortunately has a point. A lot of spells have their own unique behavior now(lightning's instantaneous speed, fire's ability to ignite the ground, ward spells breaking under magic etc.), so making a spellmaking system would be difficult at best, straight-up impossible at worst
