New thought for ancient falmer crown...

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 3:38 am

I was thinking, no one can find the ancient falmer crown through normal means right? Well, what if you have to use vision of the tenth eye (illusion ritual quest) to see where it is? It would make it so much harder to find, and after fin gleam, they needed to take a step up for easter eggs...because people would expect it and look in random places. Any thoughts about this? I know it is highly unlikely, but it could be a reason no one found it so far...

They wouldn't do that because you would be forced to join the college of winterhold and get to level 100 illusion.

But it is an easter egg...so they could basically do whatever to make you get it.

Ok, here's what I believe and I'm quite surprised nobody has raised this point yet. As far as I have read, at least. Excuse me if I'm wrong:

Before the DLC came out the patch preparing for the DLC was released. Lots of new animations were added, among them one called "SnowElfPrinceAscensionBurning.HKX". This one, to me at least, obviously refers to the flaming move Vyrthur used to break free from Serana holding him. The way I see it, Vyrthur was supposed to have taken on the role of Snow Prince, or at least have proclaimed himself Snow Prince. Makes sense, as Arch Curate he is likely the highest ranking Snow Elf alive, wouldn't be strange for him to proclaim himself ruler of the Snow Elves. He's sitting on a "throne", and the original headwear going with his armor is called a "crown". At some point Beth obviously decided to abandon this path, and Vyrhur now even announces his importance by saying something along the lines of "I was Arch Curate of Auri-El. I had the ears of a god!".

Had they gone with the Snow Prince thing, he would've worn the crown. They didn't, so there's no crown in-game. If this DLC was supposed to be the Snow Elf climix of the game, they would've probably gone with him proclaiming himself Snow Prince. I can only imagine we'll be seeing more Snow Elves in future DLC, perhaps including one that does call himself Snow Prince, and maybe even wears the crown.
