Idea to fix Vampire Spouse features.

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:44 pm

As many are aware should you actually get the quest http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Gift your newly turned vampiric spouse will lack the eyes, or showing up under detect dead and dialog might not match the subtitles. Now here's an idea I had.(but I can not test it myself). Wabbajack may solve the issue. The staff has previously been used to level up followers stats.
The Wabbajack can be used to reset your http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Followers, allowing their level and stats to scale with yours, or reach their max level.
  • To do this, take your follower to a secluded area, save (since it could kill them or turn them hostile), dismiss them, use the Wabbajack on them until they transform into something, and then punch them to break them out of it. This will cause them to respawn, which will fix their level and stats.
It occured to me this same process could work on a newly turned vampiric spouse so he/she will have the proper eyes and show up under detect dead instead of detect life. Now if they aren't a follower turning up the difficulty to master may be necessary so they don't die in a single hit. I am not in a position to test this myself but thought I'd put the idea out there for others to try.

I may do this as soon as I get home. i did notice the lack of glowing eyes. But I think since the eyes go according to level that may explain it

I don't think the race gets changed to a vampire version. If that's true, no amount of resetting the NPC will work.

Well, didn't know this quest existed. I married Vilkas and officially turned him into a milk drinker. He stands by the cauldron and cooks all day.
