I killed the sun....

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 5:43 pm

Its just a big red hole in the sky now, does anyone know if it's permanent or if something can be done to change it back (quest or console command)? I had to try it to see if it'd work. I do have a save from right before I did it but I'd kind of like to play it like it is for a while if it can be undone without using the save from before. Thanks for any help

Careful, vamp attacks are more likely to happen when sun is blotted out.

Wonder if there's a console command to make it blotted out forever, that'd be nice.

It does only last for one day, and while the sun is blotted out -

Random Death Hound attacks will happen in the wild
Random Vampire attacks will happen in the wild and in towns.
Random Gargoyle attack will happen in the wild and in towns.

So when you do Blot out the sun be sure to stay in the wild when you do, Or be ready at the town gate when you come out of a building, This happened to me in Whiterun and the lady at Warmaidens died, and Greymanes wife almost died i was able to save her ( didnt get a thank you) It was a gargoyle and two Ancient Vampires, and i had finished the quest line.

Speaking of the blottted out sun, I find it interesting that Skyrim's NPCs seem to suffer from "selective astonishment." By that I mean, if you blot out the sun, they freak the hell out. But if you walk into the pub accompanied by an armored troll, nobody seems too concerned.

I had a gargoyle attack soon after I blotted out the sun once.

Had that happen to me. Only it was two death hounds, one gargoyle brute and a master vampire. Speaking of...why can't I summon gargoyle brutes and sentinels?

Yep. The first time I blotted out the sun I was ambushed by a gaggle of Vampires being led by a few Ancient Vamps with one Volkihar Vamp, a Gargoyle and some hounds. It was out in the wild near a road in Whiterun, so they might have been on the way to the city. It was a total surprise and a hell of a fight. They caught me off guard and kept me off guard the whole time. Also! Remember that while you get to escape the sun when you blot it out, so too do the other vampires making them stronger than they'd normally be. :/

I died btw. but I took a couple of Ancient Vamps with me! HOOWA!

You must shoot those arrows at the sun directly, with auriel's bow.
also, if you shoot it with sunhallowed it causes a "sun storm", that will harm creatures nearby
