The main plot

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 10:08 pm

So everyone knows the vamps wanna black out the sun, it's on previews and everything. I just don't get why, here is my understanding: these vampires can survive in the sun without burning up or being weak, yet they want to block the tyranny of the sun. The sun helps provide crops, which in turn humans eat, and the livestock that humans eat also eat these crops. Wouldn't this in turn mean less humans for vampires to feed on? Is there something I'm missing? No spoilers please unless you do that thing that hides them? I don't know how, I'm on iPhone, site looks nicer on the eyes. Just want to know if there's more to this, or what you think about the information given by the previews?

It can be assumed it is just some magical barrier. It doesn't literally block it out, it just darkens it to be pro - vampire.

Spoiler
The Sun doesn't actually get blocked permanently, you decide when you blot it out, the effect last for the present day only

Minor spoiler (and I mean, really minor, but you said you wanted them hidden)

Ah I see, that would make sense to me then, and ya, I originally put this in a dif section so I guess it was already too much of a spoiler pointing out the plot the previews gave, no need to hide spoilers I guess

Real world physics are different from Nirn, they do not apply where magic and dragons churn about. And actually, patching up the sun will basically remove a very large hole from mundus. Which is better than the dawnguard's option. Magnus's whistle will no longer allow as much aetherial magicka to seep into mundus, a bad thing to some, a better option for others. The streaming amount after such an event should be equal to what the ayleids harvested within their wells, smaller but still prevalent. For the stars will still be within the night's call, as they are smaller rips into aetherius. Giving those few mages left some source of power.

All life would definitely not be extinct. The aedra operate independently from Magnus's gate, the sun. Kynareth will still be around, Arkay will still be around, Akatosh will still be around, Dibella will still be around, Mara will still be around, Zenithar will still be around, Stendarr will still be around, Julianos will still be around. They support mundus, as long as they are still around, all will be alright. So the argument of 'no sun, no life' is as void as Sithis.

Lord Harkons idea was that he would use the bow (curse the bow) and blot out the sun permanently.

No actually I'm not new to the lore but your story about whistles and wells seems to be the stuff of legends to me

Lore is lore. Just explaining to the OP that the sun in the real world differs from Nirn's sun.

The OP is correct. It simply makes no sense, like everything else about the entire questline. It's a cheap excuse to get vampirism in the game, period.

If the moons can just disappear for several years only to reappear later, why can't the sun be blotted out? Have you ever seen the way dragons fly in Skyrim? They often violate the laws of physics. Heck, getting something that big to fly with those puny wings violates Bernouli's law.

Its magic I tell ya.

Vampirism was already in the game. Ever since arena, the FIRST Elder Scrolls game.

Since Serana is willing to cure herself of vampirism, why the hell didn't she do that to troll her dad? Aside from the fact you don't even need to kill her, for her blood.

^^^This^^^ or Beth had something else in mind, but it never got finished. I think we're all at a loss here. To complete that many quests and be rewarded with such a cool weapon, something make does not make sense to me.
Spoiler
The only time I use the Bow is when Serana reminds me how bright the sun is. Other than that it's useless, unless I'm a vampire, which I chose to be cured.

So if you read the spoiler, I take care of my girl Serana :)

Have you only played Skyrim because vampires have been in TES since the beginning.

Good point if she was willing to rid herself of vampirism for your sake yet not to stop her farther from blotting out the sun permanently, doesn't make any sense??????
