It is, but you'll understand when that option becomes available to you. I don't want to spoil your game, but you will know when:)

Yes, unfortunately. Poor design choice on Bethesda's part.

Actually not. It's the same Vampire Lord whichever side you're on. Unless you're talking about vampiric artifacts that can only be obtained by doing sidequests for the vamps?

All the vampire related things actually go into vamp lord
IE royal armor, the ring and the amulet.
So yes much worse imo

.............I need two Gargoyles.

Yes, it's pretty stupid, how only the unliving can enter the realm of the spirit. And the thought of curing yourself after in Morthal. Or you can choose to be soul traqed LOL. What was Bethesda thinking?

True, you can't get the jewelery, but the vampire royal armor is obtainable for DG-sided players. Harkon drops one, and there's another set in the castle (the very last room in the castle where you encounter multiple gargoyles before finally arriving in Valerica's study). It respawns too.

Does that include the Moth Priest Dexion?

Yeah, you're right. I understood it as if the Vampire Lord form itself was weaker when it's not. But it can get much stronger with all the addons you get on the vampire side...

I don't know about you, but my character wouldn't hesitate for a second before choosing soultrapping. She's a vampire hunter, she won't become a vampire no matter what. But she has to enter the Soul Cairn and if the only way to do it is to let go of part of her soul, so be it.
Although I agree that part was poorly written. It's like Bethesda is trying to force us into becoming vampires at every possible occassion. It reminds me of how we had to join half of the guilds as part of Skyrim's MQ... They desperately need better writers.

I know most people dont know but the vampire royal armor, the rings and the amulets are the only things that actually effect you in vampire lord form so it does benifit from actually playing the vampire side, plus..............I need my gargoyles man.

Really? I got vampirism when I entered the Soul Cairn and I still got side quests from the Dawnguard. However, I couldn't feed either. I got a mod to fix the feeding bug, I'll have to see what their reaction is now.

EDIT: Still no reaction.
