They are a rare and random encounter, I was 60ish hours into Dawnguard before I had my first werewolf encounter. Stay just off to the side of the road, not all out off roading, just to the side like 10-20 feet from the road. Travel only at night and stop every hunter, traveler you meet on the way, sometimes you will get to see a transformation right in front of you.

North of glutathione's monument and between whiterun imperial camp and swindlers den I have spawned 3 versions. 2 werewolfs hunting , farmer transforming over his dead wife yelling what have I done and hunter transforming after seeing me. All at night.

thanx

Keep in mind though, they are rare encounters. I have 100+ hours plugged into Dawnguard and have only had 2 werewolf attacks, and 3 gargoyle attacks out in the wild. So be patient you'll get your wish, for me each werewolf attack was a pair of Vagar werewolves ( I don't remember the exact spelling ) which are supposed to be the highest level werewolf you can bump into, needless to say it was an interesting encounter. More so because they have the same combat abilities as a player werewolf, so they can kind of lock you in stun lock and hand you your ass if your not ready for it.

Those are hit and miss though, if you don't get an encounter you have to camp out, save and then reload. Which defeats the fun and purpose of random encounters, you want it to be a surprise and fun, not camping out reloading until you get the encounter which isn't that fun.

Well that svcks, been running long? I like to let thing flow naturally, I like the surprise of a random encounter even if it gets me killed. To each their own

unfortunately it will be a long time before i can play skyrim again...my xbox is getting red ring so i had to stop, so i probably have to save up for a new one, which will take a while since two games are going to hit in the next two months...
